Thats what I thought and definitely not what I want. But thanks for taking the trouble to have a look.

Crocodile - 31 Mar 2003 22:25 - 361 of 11003

vasey I had the same problem with messenger as well, It was quite easy to fix
when it showed my EMail instead of the name I wanted.
First I disabled the auto login from Outlook
Then .... checking ... BRB

vasey - 31 Mar 2003 22:27 - 362 of 11003

Thanks, Croc. I'll ring you tomorrow.

Crocodile - 31 Mar 2003 22:29 - 363 of 11003

Youve fixed it?

vasey - 31 Mar 2003 22:31 - 364 of 11003

I just saw your post 358. I'm just looking...

Crocodile - 31 Mar 2003 22:32 - 365 of 11003

o.k.
Can you get into messenger?

vasey - 31 Mar 2003 22:34 - 366 of 11003

I think so. I did disable the automatic log on last night. BRB?

Crocodile - 31 Mar 2003 22:35 - 367 of 11003

BRB = Be Right Back
well in messenger
if you click on tools and options
what do you get?

vasey - 31 Mar 2003 22:37 - 368 of 11003

Yep, I think I can get into Messenger.

Crocodile - 31 Mar 2003 22:37 - 369 of 11003

see above :-)

vasey - 31 Mar 2003 22:40 - 370 of 11003

Got the Options / Personal tab up but the top box, 'Type your name as you would want others to see it' is greyed out. I deleted my e-mail details from there last night and it won't let me put anything in what is now a blank box.

Crocodile - 31 Mar 2003 22:41 - 371 of 11003

O.K.
The reason for that is that you have an invalid net passort
click on file
and sign out

vasey - 31 Mar 2003 22:42 - 372 of 11003

ok

Crocodile - 31 Mar 2003 22:43 - 373 of 11003

Then try and sign in with a different account
click on the arrow on the side
and see if your old account is there

Crocodile - 31 Mar 2003 22:45 - 374 of 11003

If not
Then click on 'Get a net passport' which is on the bottom left hand corner of the login screen

vasey - 31 Mar 2003 22:46 - 375 of 11003

yep, the old one is still there

Crocodile - 31 Mar 2003 22:47 - 376 of 11003

Either use your existing EMail address or use another one you have to set up a new passport

Crocodile - 31 Mar 2003 22:48 - 377 of 11003

Well select that old one and as long as you have the password you should be able to login

Crocodile - 31 Mar 2003 22:48 - 378 of 11003

I have 3 passports to choose from for work, family and general

vasey - 31 Mar 2003 22:49 - 379 of 11003
