Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

sticky - i did NOT say that i necessarily supported every country to which "we" give aid .... with that in mind, i refuse point blank to give to any african based charities, and there are a few others too .... though the populace may deserve aid, as has already been said, much of this aid will end up in the dictator's pocket

See Captain Invincible Cameron is sending in the troops to sort out the floods and the weather.
After 4 weeks.
Organisation for you.
Hear he is taking his bailer with him.
Bet he is going to blame the previous Labour government.
I wonder how many will vote tory,
=========
See the polls still give the Labour party 70 seat lead, should lead to some reforms.

Just the usual nonsense. There are 100 military waiting for the routes to be checked. The 2 guys are the ones checking the routes. The 100 may be going in tomorrow.

What routes Haystack ? You mean the routes available by boat presumably. I don't think it's nonsense actually, it makes me mad that these people have been living in these conditions for four weeks now and it's only when the press latch on to the story and the politicians think - OMG, this is bad publicity - that anything gets done. I'm a Tory voter at heart, but Cameron and his crew really need to get their act together and concentrate on the issues that are important to this country.

Not so clever to go and live somewhere that is below sea level when we are told sea levels rising. It may be a losing battle and revert to salt marshes and swamps.

Tell that to the Dutch.

The Dutch have had hundreds of years to sort out their problems, although they will have new problems if water levels rise. Somerset may just have to sink. Actually there are probably Conservative seats there so we may to invest in flood defences to help the people :)

You might as well make up your mind to the fact that sea levels are going to rise and are rising imperceptibly..... the trend is for rising seas, exasperated by mankind's industrialism and sense of self-destruction...half of Britain is going to be underwater in a hundred plus years or so....it is a bit like an icecube : at first it seems solid and will remain whole for ever ...then it starts to melt...just a little and slowly but the melting gets worse and worse and the effect accelerates ...the polar icecaps melting will be exactly the same...just a little to begin with, and then probably Greenland, Artic and Antartica icecaps will melt in centuries to come with catastrophic results for lowlands around the coasts !....it's a losing battle.....governments can help but only to a certain amount....perhaps seas rising means that there is more water to evaporate across the globe, more surface, with a magnifying glass effect and that might mean more rainfall !...if it was me : I would dam the Med across Gibraltar to Morocco and the Wash in Britain for a start...big projects but would save huge amounts of land from the rising waters and with the Wash would save most of East England !...for a few hundred years anyway...

Perhaps, Cameron can turn the tide back like King Canute.
Forgot, he was a failure.
Didn't he lose the crown jewels.
A bit like Wavy Dave losing his baubles!

When I mean the Wash : Boston across to Hunstanton......and we would save the bird colonies and seals at the same time as well as a massive land reclamation and the need to raise sea level barriers all the way round that coast !....
