VANE MINERALS, A Cheaper And Lower Risk Route Into The Uranium Market. (VML)

goldfinger - 08 Mar 2005 09:20

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE..

COMPANY WEB SITE.........

http://www.vaneminerals.com/

THE PRICE OF URANIUM IS GOING BALISTIC...

The uranium spot price hasn't seen a down month since 2001. For years now, uranium producers have met just 60% of total annual demand - the other 40% coming from government stockpiles and decommissioned nuclear warheads. This can go on for only so long.

The tightness of supply comes at a time of atomic resurgence. Three large-scale factors have turned the tide in favour of nuclear energy:
geopolitics, global warming and developing world growth.

Analysts are debating over wether the SP of Uranium increase will be three fold within 2007?.

Looks like to me, the best play on the UK market for Uranium and it hasnt gotten away yet like the other two ZBA Zareba and URA Uranium which have multi bagged. Its also in a position to fund its development with a new gold mine producing. Ive added twice this morning and think this one could be very big. Heres the announcement...........

Vane Minerals PLC
07 March 2005

VANE Minerals plc (AIM: VML)

VANE Announces Diversification Into Uranium Exploration And Development

Vane Minerals ('VANE' or 'the Company') announces that it is diversifying its
current project portfolio by entering into the uranium exploration and
development business.

To date 7 uranium targets have been successfully claimed by the Company and 28
further properties have been identified and are under development. VANE expects
to finalise its property position by the end of the first quarter 2005. The
Company is targeting uranium projects that are either at, or near, resource
stage or targets that exhibit similar surface features to mines with past
production, but that have not yet been evaluated for the presence of uranium.

The 35 properties identified are located within a uranium district with
significant past production as well as significant resources. Due to the
current uranium market conditions, we prefer to not identify the location until
we complete our property position. Previous drilling data available for some of
the 7 properties successfully claimed indicate grade intersects from 0.34 up to
1.78% U3O8.

VANE has incorporated a 100% owned subsidiary to hold its uranium properties and
has also successfully recruited a uranium geologist, Kristopher K. Hefton B.Sc.,
who has considerable experience in this field and is a great addition to the
VANE team. Mr. Hefton has worked with VANE's exploration team in the past during
his time at Freeport McMoran, and he has also worked for Barrick Gold
Corporation, Homestake Mining Company and Energy Fuels Nuclear Inc.

Michael Spriggs, Chairman of VANE, commented, 'We are delighted to announce the
addition of these uranium assets to the VANE portfolio and will update the
market with more substantial details once further properties have been claimed.
The uranium market has been strong for some time now, reflecting a long-term
forecast supply shortage and the growing recognition that nuclear energy offers
a cleaner and more energy efficient fuel source. Through our extensive network,
we have identified some quality projects and look forward to releasing further
details when appropriate.'

Excellent post Madison - thanks for spelling it out for us newbies.

GF - once again I find you a steady hand on the tiller whenever the scaremongers come out :-)

Madison - 17 Apr 2005 23:41 - 366 of 2220

Baza, you don't need to be a financial analyst to compare Alexander with Vane!

Alexander expects to be producing copper within the next 18 to 24 months.
Vane is expected to be producing gold at Diablito "in May 2005 with the design capacity of 50 t/d to be achieved two months ahead of the plan as outlined in the budget detailed in the listing prospectus."

Vane is about to become cash-generative. I don't know when this might happen for Alexander.

Alexander's model and strategy isn't clear to me. Vane's is (see above).

I haven't looked at Alexander's deal with Thomas mining in detail but it seemed to me to be in a different league to Vane's Freeport deal (see above).

At present, to my knowledge, Alexander doesn't have a uranium exploration taking place with an announcement due in the next month!

As far as management is concerned I don't know about Alexander, maybe they're brilliant.

Finally, I think Vane's media and shareholder relations are well considered, whereas there has been a suggestion that this may not be the case at Alexander.

Seamus, good to see a new poster. I thought I was never coming back when I couldn't log on for six hours today. (Seems to be sorted now)

Cheers, Madison

Vane Properties : Freeport Data Bank

The principals of AVEN Associates LLC negotiated an Agreement with Freeport-McMoRan Copper and Gold Company giving AVEN exclusive control of the exploration files accumulated by Freeport and its subsidiaries since 1907. There are 7,000 exploration files, each containing data on between one and ten projects worldwide. These are available for review by the AVEN team searching for references to mineral occurrences with previously unrecognised potential.

The AVEN Freeport-McMoRan agreement is in effect until 30th June 2006. The Agreement gives Freeport-McMoRan a one-time option at the time of reserve announcement and/or when target goes into formal feasibility to become an equity partner with a participating interest of up to a 25% by paying two times the incurred exploration costs in proportion to the interest acquired.

A review of the Freeport-McMoRan files, essentially an inexpensive reconnaissance of many prospects, is currently underway with approximately 75% of the files examined to date. These files have been and continue to be examined in an attempt to identify targets which may now be made viable by application of new metallurgy, advances in geologic concepts, changes in metal prices or other technology advances. The collection, which consists of both hard-copies and microfilms, includes at least the following number of individual prospects and reconnaissance areas:

USA 4689
Mexico 505
Canada 1230
South America 300
Central America 100
Australia 200
Rest Of The World 285

Nothing you can do in a market like this but take it on the chin and dream of the dot com days LOL. I think after the storm we will be ok. Seen this many times before except for the pre opening farce. So many stocks marked down and also so many being able to sell before the market was open at 8 am. Anyone see all that activity, it should be stopped by the London Stock Exchange.

cheers GF.

Showing quite a sizeable loss on this one now. All the AIM seems to be falling recently. Wonder if its to do with those articles Ive read recently about the AIM being overvalued?

goldfinger - 18 Apr 2005 09:14 - 373 of 2220

Its the whole market Chad thats taking a pounding, on Friday and the day before the top 250 were hurt most because thats were the biggest gains have been this year.

cheers GF.

mkts playing silly buggers.

having been a MM i can assure you that on days like these all stocks are market down a few % regardless of quality. trust me, if a buy order comes in or there is a flight to quality, then the shit that may have floated sinks and the quality stays on an even keel over the next few sessions.

those experinced amongst us would agree that the best thing is to go out for a long walk and keep away from the screens for a few hours (unless you are picking a few cherries at these levels)

tallsiii - 18 Apr 2005 09:52 - 375 of 2220

Or just go short on an index!!

Well, just been for a swim rather than stare at a red screen (good advice proptrade!).

Come back and the Vane buys and sells look more or less even, so things are looking up. Very tempted to top up at these prices...

Cheers, Madison
