How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Just laid Ancic for a small amount at 1.08, He is 1 set up (on a tie break). I have popped a trailing stop on him and will leave it there and go off and have some tea and put the kids to bed.

Just nipped in to see what was happening, One set all Ancic out to 1.30. I'm getting the hang of this tennis stuff. Ancic to serve first in next set so I guess he has the upper hand now.

Derek seems to be caught in a strong south westerly the way he's been drifting since midnight. Good spot.
edit: reading betfair forum, it seems the price movement is down to Derek threatening to walk lol

Yes at first sight it seems to have worked out as planned. But who knows. Derek asked BB to leave the house and the second part of tomorrow's eviction night has been extended to an hour. That could mean that another housemate is going in or it could mean a planned walkout by Derek and the eviction of Roberto. Although then Channel 4 would be misleading voters spending their hard earned. They could have agreed with Derek that he would walk if he wasn't evicted...
The point is that if he walks then I think betting on him will be void and that is where I have my profit.

Of course Derek could be just posturing, announcing to his friend that he did nearly decide to leave to attend her wedding... on the other hand he looked relaxed yesterday in a way he would if he knew he was moving on... ah a very murky situation. I have closed at 3.0 on Derek, rather than laying Roberto, to ensure that if the bets are voided both will be voided.

having read the rules on the betfair page if someone walks then they will just be counted as a loser - the market is purely whoever is evicted next. Been a lot of rumours in the press they are bringing in another female this week.

Small punt on Any Other on the BB Winner market. In previous years odds have shortened when a new contender has entered the house. Mind you the odds have already come down from 20+ to 15 so I may be a little on the late side.

got in having missed the start of the henman match - see he is a break up already. his opponent looks poor so not currently getting involved though may look to do so once henman wins first set

I had to close my position when Tursunov lost his first service game. Haven't been tempted back in yet.

Steve,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
Regarding a nights out, I'm pretty flexible too and can make most nights but if we're planning on a bender till the crack of dawn then a Fri/Sat would suit me. Otherwise midweek is better but with John away I'll post him dates when he returns.
Trading the Henman game at moment and managed to average out a lay off at 1.06. Will keep this as hardly any downside and will look to green up later.

im not sure we are going to plan a bender till the crack of dawn, but if last time is anything to go by it will probably happen anyway

the joys of not getting in until the game had started - my entry point was lower - henman pulling out all the stops to lose the second set :-)
have left the position running on Betangel and will let it sort itself out as the cricket is now starting

Henman, Predictable as ever. No need to green up yet.
Scrip, Hope you got back in on this one.

Just served myself a get out of jail free card on the 15:20 at Newc. Market went AWOL for a bit and I wasn't watching. Rank outside came in and won!
