Seadog,
see the note below the position summary - it shows what will be the eventual commission when you have closed the position,
'Please Note that "Open" positions will show the cash profit based on closing the position at the
current price as show in the "My Account" section including all charges (commission and stamp duty).
All prices are 15 minutes delayed.'

Just a note on the 10k-50k qualifying trades. If you open and close a trade on one stock, then the program allows the second trade to use the entire balance on the account, not just 50k.
Personally I think this opening/closing trade business is a bit of a huge unnecessary complication. Presumably you are trying to ensure that portfolios that have not traded are not listed in the league tables and/or are not eligible for prizes. Much easier just to say in the rules that portfolios must have at least 20,000 traded in total on at least two stocks to qualify for prizes, and to omit those that haven't from the tables.

The quantity check on a buyback after a short appears to be wrong. Shorted the whole account value on a stock, which then went the wrong way, so bought back, but it seems to be comparing against the value of the account rather than allowing a buyback of the whole short position.

Kayak,
Thanks for highlighting that validation issue. It is now fixed.
I've tested the shorting issue you describe. You can not buy back more than the inital 100k you started with as this would leave you with a negative balance which is not allowed during play.
Karl.

? I mean I shorted 6,443 and wanted to buy them back. This is perfectly OK of course, it does not leave you with a negative balance, just less than 100k. In the event it would only let me buy back 6,410 so the remaining 33 had to be a second trade.

adicoleman,
The tables don't update immediately, they do so every half hour, so you will appear after the next update on the tables,
Ian
