Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

qwento,

SMY, STCM and MIG updated.

Cheers, James.

Thanks for the quick response Ian,

Suppose I will have to bookmark the stockwatch page to bypass and send people straight to the registration page.

Actually you make a very good point with Stockwatch. I actually asked ADVFN to maybe lose some of the ads on their portfolio page, as you needed to scroll down about 6 inches before you get to the information, so on the whole I see your method as the less of two evils! (only joking!) Better to get the ads out of the way.

Stand corrected.

Regards

Adam

Blimey, a record for me today : Level 2 55 reconnects, Level 1 24 reconnects and still counting !

IanT(MoneyAM) - 19 Sep 2005 14:45 - 3687 of 7315

qwento,

I have had a level 1 screen and several level 2 screens open all day and have not see any behavior like this - JT is however looking into it.

qwento,

See what you get on Space Invaders!

J - If Space Invaders reconnects as often as Level1 I doubt if I'd get past zero ;-)

IanT(MoneyAM) - 19 Sep 2005 14:48 - 3690 of 7315

qwento,

JT will be taking a look at the streaming processes this evening to see what may have caused this.

Ian, this logging out stuff is still happening

Dynamite - 19 Sep 2005 16:40 - 3692 of 7315

Just got back in...so it was not just me with problems today...I kept losing connection and my price feeds kept stopping plus no news alot of the day. I was beginning to think it was broadband or something.

Still at least I made a good profit today even with the price problem; except I came out of Rio at breakeven thinking it wasn't moving but my prices had stopped!

qwento,

In response to your comment 3868 above, Level2 didn't disconnect at all yesterday, unless you were using the same account from two computers...

I did find the cause of the Level1 problems however and am just working on putting in a fix at the moment.

tulletj
yes it did. it did it to me every 1 to 2 minutes. In fact I have just been logged out again today , five minutes ago. I am only putting level 2 on one IP address

qwento - 20 Sep 2005 12:36 - 3696 of 7315

J - Well, I don't know what you want me to say.

There was certainly a problem of some kind and it wasn't just me who was suffering.

Level1 and Level2 streaming yesterday was close to useless.

The TradeSeeker products attempt a reconnection if the streaming stalls - in total close to 100 times yesterday for me.

I fared no better with MoneyAM Level2 - it kept stopping. The only way I could get it to restart was to refresh it.

On a normal day I usually see close to zero reconnects - which is the case today.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 20 Sep 2005 13:07 - 3697 of 7315

Jules,

The level2 logout code isn't per IP address, it's per computer. So if you have Level2 up on two computers on the same IP address you should be logged out from one of them.

It's nothing to do with IP addresses, it's computers...

Jules - 20 Sep 2005 13:12 - 3698 of 7315

Tullet J, I have one computerwith 2 screens which displays level 2
I may be a little simple with computers, but I did understand the one computer aspect from last week:-)

Jules - 20 Sep 2005 13:32 - 3699 of 7315

I have been logged off again. Level 2 is on one computer only

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 20 Sep 2005 13:33 - 3700 of 7315

Jules,

Just checking :)

When it's disconnecting, does it actually say 'you've logged in from another location'?

J.

Jules - 20 Sep 2005 13:34 - 3701 of 7315

Yes it does
