Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

IMHO this result has shown how out-of-touch Politicians are with their voters.

AND - can't we see that EU Policy is destroying money? Look at Greece, Italy, Spain/Portugal - the EU is likely to need more money to prop-up countries that should NEVER have joined IMHO. EU is going to get worse over time and early-leavers will bless their actions . . . It's not "IF" - rather "When" so our exit is a smart-move before the ship hits the rocks . . . the Market turmoil is the nasty-face of capitalism, which was expected.... esp. Banks and Housebuilders, I read.

It is a great shame that Prime Minister DC couldn't stay neutral and keep his powder dry, - but he may have thought he'd "won" Scotland -and- thought the same tactics would work again.
Whereas Scotland has enduring benefit ( English cash) to remain in the UK . . . the opposite is true for UK/EU, the two things "Wot done it" were, IMHO 1) Immigration and the rapid changes to our country. and 2) that money the EU receives and gives us back a fraction. Sure the Campaign-figures were not precise, but the point is true.
3) the imminent collapse of a defunct Politico.

I read that many countries with trade agreements with EU have agreed to "Free movement of People" - and examples were given like Canada. . . . . but somehow I don't think Canadians would agree to mass invasion - rather that historically very few folk want to settle in Canada ( Although they do have an excellent "introduction" programme which is geared to immigrants from Asia.).

The issue EU has is that Free-Movement is only workable when there isn't any!
As soon as a Country is "invaded" then EU-ideals fly out the window, as no country can sustain high-levels of native-dilution . . . . clearly (in my view), the EU conveniently ignored this possibility when it invented such a silly Policy.
The EU policy should be replaced by free-movement for . . . .

-and that I don't know.

Please don't raise the UK retirees in Spain - they are supporting many towns along the coast that would have near-zero Off-Season activity if the Retired community left . . . and I suggest these folks ( from mainland Europe too ), bring their own money to Spain, - they do not arrive in rubber-boats and demand Housing.

It all depends on the trade talks. I think we will be in the single market on some basis and we will have free movement of people in some form as the price. A new trade deal will be signed and that will be that. UKIP can call for another referendum but it will be in vain. UKIP are a spent force. They won't have anything to do with the negotiations. It will be a cross party group of Labour and Conservatives. Even Boris said that he likes immigration. It doesn't matter what Farage promised during the referendum as he is not an MP and has no real say. He wasn't even part of the official Leave campaign. Farage may have helped get a referendum, but Boris won it.
