It raises capital and reduces overheads. Since most of the disposals relate to duplicate premises e.g. C&G branch in same location as another Lloy the consequence should be minor. At the end of the day Lloy is now much bigger than competition laws would probably have allowed - it was the circumstances of the takeover/rescue that allowed that inconvenient obstacle to be ignored. However bigger aint necessarily better as RBS knows but .... I'm still keeping these as a core holding in my SIPP and trading a bit on the side for the see saws.
