Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Well Im glad to hear about your daughter Cyners positive NHS experience, but for every positive theirs 9 negatives.
Bloke down my local pub a NHS nurse says the system is falling apart here in Kirklees.
Says theirs far too many changes taking place and all at the same time.
Loads of patients left on beds in corridors. A@E like a riot room with lots of foreigners all with rest of their family taking up room and causing slowdowns.
I dare say it isnt like this all over and their will be regional differences but the picture he paints isnt a nice one.

like i said, you lot (especially) love throwing brickbats, though i would agree there is indeed an awful lot wrong with nhs ...... there would also seem to be swathes of health tourists
however, my great exception to you slurry-spreaders and mud-slingers is that you like to attach the blame solely to the current incumbents, whereas the truth is that the nhs has been short of money and efficiency for at least the last decade, and probably the less said about "who let in the health tourists", the better

The problem with bigots is....
The problem with lung disease is, you kind of have to breathe. At least a bit regularly.
And the problem with heart failure is hearts can't really fail. They're just not optional.
The problem with bowel disease is you have to eat. Quite a lot. I've tried stopping, it doesn't really work. And food is incredibly yummy. And it nurtures our souls more than our taste buds let on.
With kidney failure, hours dedicated to satisfying the great dialysis beast allows you to process liquids, which is fairly non-negotiable by anyone's standards.
And the problem with cancer is it doesn't give the tiniest shit which one of us it invades or where.
But the trouble with bigots is, they ignore all of that. They can only see one problem.
"Why is that bloke down the street getting something I'm not? And why should I pay for it??"

sticky - CC has a perfectly valid point ....
this thread is indeed not meant to be subject specific, but it is fast turning (or even has turned) into a tiresome, verbose, political soapbox monopolised by real or pretend or even pretentious socialists, and of course hays, who rises like a trout to every mayfly offered

Manuel,
No. All governments and managements make mistakes.
It is the conceited arrogance of the "Odd Boys" which many object to. Directing policies and actions within the services without respect of those who have worked in the "industries" for numerous years. Basing their changes on ideological miss-theories and diktats and ill-conceived dogma
The so called "health tourist" costs are minor, when you take the overall costs of the NHS.
Also, consider the approximate 2.5 millions Brits floating around abroad in the EU who also may receive medical care and medications.
What this government is doing is scapegoating the bloody "foreigners" (previously. at other times the Jews), the "idle", the socially, or medically impaired for their own failures and greed.

Yours thoughts on the this thread won't be missed by many and your vanity could probably survive doing so.

Anyway Cynic its up to the individual to set the article and subject agenda.
Nobodys saying to Chris C that he cant say eg, post about Aberdeen..... shit hole that it is mind.
If nobody replies it shows they arent interested in his subject.............or him.
Similar with you, you can always post about your toff sport golf but dont think youd get many replies , girly sport that it is.

in fact, it is just you and fossy who take up about 85% of the postings and SPACE on this thread, which should tell you that .....

Bye the way he Manuel did start what could have been an interesting thread for some on food.
If he had refrained from being obnoxious it is possible that many may have contributed to it.
