Many of you will have met and been entertained online and offline by this most remarkable man. He has been a stalwart of the BBs since ESI days and always brought a sense of humour and fairness to all his postings. To meet him in the flesh was a remarkable experience, you couldnt but smile at his wayward antics and fun of life. Some of our Xmas lunches have been MG Days with his penchant for wearing thongs on the outside of his clothes plus many other memorable and not repeatable antics.
Despite the fun side of life he was a very strong family man, a very good businessman and an adviser to local governments on regeneration.
He will be sorely missed by me as a personal friend and fun golfer, but mainly as one of the most honest and fun contributors to the BBs I have been involved in.
This is from his family
Dear all
We are sorry to contact you all like this with this news, but it is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Malcolm passed away just before 7.30 yesterday evening in the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham. We are sure that you are all aware that Malcolm was battling prostate cancer and his decline in the last few days was rapid and shocking. He was admitted to the QE on Friday with very low platelet and haemoglobin levels. It quickly became apparent that the cancer had spread to his liver and on Monday morning his kidney function also deteriorated rapidly. He spent yesterday drifting in and out of consciousness but was aware that we were all with him. He seemed to spend much of this time in a better place and was talking about being in Wales (the scene of many a happy family holiday).
Malcolm has clearly been planning for this time though it came so much sooner than any of us could have imagined. He has left clear instructions outlining his wishes when the inevitable has happened and he had set up this group email for us to contact you all. We hope that many of you will by now have heard in a more personal way and are sorry if this email is the first that you have heard of this. We will obviously be in touch with details of Malcolms funeral when these arrangements have been made.
With much love and best wishes,
Julie, Rachel and Matthew"

Very sad to hear another person leave us. MG was a real character and well liked. Had many a beer with him and a fair bit of golf. Very sad to hear he has gone.

I'm absolutely mortified. This news has brought tears to my eyes immediately.
Met (and drank) with him at Xmas bashes and still have the Bull/bear tie I convinced him to sell me at the first one I attended. Brilliant humour and a lovely guy. No poster will ever forget the thong thing. ;-)))
Feel so sad for those who'll miss him most.
Life just ain't fair, is it?

Malcolm
Feel no guilt in laughter;
He will know how much you care.
Feel no sorrow in a smile
That hes not here to share.
You cannot grieve forever;
He would not want you to.
Hed hope that you would carry on
The way you always do.
Yes, talk about the good times,
The fun, some stocks you picked,
The times you spent together,
Camaraderie and a wayward antic.
Let his memories surround you.
A word someone may say
Will suddenly recapture
A time, an hour, a day
That brings him back as clearly
As though, he were still here.
And fills you with the feelings
That he might just well be near.
For, if you keep such moments,
You will never be apart.
And this good friend will live forever,
Locked safe within your heart.

MG brought a lot of fun to a lot of people - always exhuberent, optimistic, quick witted and with his huge grin and sparkling eyes - his joie de vivre was infectious and I'll remember him not only as a friend but as great company and the life and soul of any gathering.
The 'Christmas Tree up my ****' episode was a classic - as was his fairy costume to the xmas dinner that year.
We'll miss you Malcolm. And, in a strange way, we'll even miss those AIM recruitment company crappy tips!
Heartfelt condolences to Malcolm's family who were lucky enough to have spent so much more time with him than we ever could - you've lost a great guy.

MG.
I am sorry to hear of your death at such a young age. We met only briefly on two occasions. On the last meeting you and Martini teased me gently in a friendly way.
We didnt talk for long, but when we parted, I hoped that we would meet again and have a longer chat, unfortunately that is not to be.
Condolences to your wife and family. I wish them all that is good for them.

I am very sorry to hear of this very sad news.
I spoke to Martini a few days ago about Malcolm, but even though I knew the name, in my senile mind, I couldn't put a face to the name.
Now that I have seen the photos, i am staggered to find out who it is. Malcolm was a real character, real laugh a minute and could be an absolute nutter at times. I have known him from past functions for many years now and am truly sorry for his family at this very sad news.
RIP.

You know, I was thinking the other day, MG was probably one of the funniest guys I ever met.
The phrase "Joie de Vivre" was made for him.
Just thought I'd share that with you all.
