PLUS MARKETS a steady rise and worth a look (PMK)

moneyplus - 27 Oct 2005 10:25

I have picked up a few of these and am pleased with the steady rise. This is the holding company which owns Ofex and in Dec-more mm's will be joining it to make it a stronger competitor for LSE and Aim markets. Well known market firms seem to be investing in this one but so far small investors and analysts are not taking much interest. I'm in early as I think it will do well---any comments from regulars on here?

Longer term chart suggests a lot of resistance at and above 25p. After a near 400% rise for the shares, might be time to consider locking in a few pofits.

squidd - 30 Nov 2005 13:18 - 38 of 112

hawick: I agree; my chart is telling me that a 400% rise is unsustainable and we should be taking profits before everyone else does. On the other hand, the background story is pretty compelling: the share was worth 35p a couple of years ago and it is a recovery stock; now, with dynamic new management and the EU regulators turning the screws on the competition at LSE, it ought to be worth at least that now. Think I'll hang on.

And as I wrote that, some sellers appeared.

moneyplus - 30 Nov 2005 15:25 - 40 of 112

rns out today saying the plus service is officially launched on Dec 5th but warning that this will have a significant impact on the figures because of setup costs---still the sp goes up. I don't know which way to jump now!!

squidd - 04 Dec 2005 16:21 - 41 of 112

There are still few signs of the profit takers, and PMK just keeps rising. Perhaps this is going to be the next QXL (10 X in a year). I'm continuing to hold.

A good article in Red Hot PS about buying into Ofex and how it is set to grow as a market mentioning PMK as the operating company with supremo Simon Brickles in charge. It is regulated by the FSA rather than the LSE making it more suitable for smaller and obviously more risky companies to come to market. Tom B thinks it will thrive because too many large established companies are moving down to Aim now spoiling it's raisond'etre. so 146 companies are on Ofex and more queuing up behind them plus the new mms trading in the shares. I don't think it's private investors that are buying yet I think it's city boys who think this is going to succeed under the new management- why else would the likes of Winterfloods etc have put in the initial investment to get this exchange going again-it nearly went under last year under the previous management.
I'm like you squidd-reluctant to sell as I feel it will grow like Topsy but at the same
time can't believe how it's steadily rising!! holding for now anyway-good luck!

I picked HBG last year and sold for a poor 40 profit when they appeared to be ignored by the market---now look at them am I sick!!!

squidd - 05 Dec 2005 06:30 - 43 of 112

MP: Like you I never seem to get it quite right. I sold half my AEX shares a few weeks ago, only to see a further dramatic rise. But I pocketed a healthy profit, which was a huge improvement with say Redstone Telecom, where I held out for the moon.
I like to think that my score rate has improved and having re-read everything about PMK, I'm inclined to keep adding when funds become available.

very small pull back today but wouldn't be surprised to close blue again squidd.

hawick - 05 Dec 2005 13:17 - 45 of 112

Bit of buy on rumour.......... I think. The one I mentioned Ofex:STH rumoured to announce a decent sized fundraising at current price in next week or two - would be brill for them.

moneyplus - 06 Dec 2005 00:30 - 46 of 112

good article in the Times today-sorry yesterday saying trading has begun etc.

moneyplus - 07 Dec 2005 14:10 - 47 of 112

down a bit yesterday but on the way up again today-I'm still holding did you add any sqiudd?? now we need the tip sheets etc to start talking about them.

jimmy b - 07 Dec 2005 14:18 - 48 of 112

It was a tip in this months Quantum Leap moneyplus ,they only have two new buys in each issue.

moneyplus - 07 Dec 2005 15:08 - 49 of 112

cheers Jimmy.

moneyplus - 07 Dec 2005 17:26 - 50 of 112

shore capital took some profit yesterday and probably caused the dip but they still own over 4% and the sp closed on a new high-good for Quantum Leap. did they give any guess on future value jimmy?

squidd - 07 Dec 2005 18:18 - 51 of 112

With so many opportunities to take good profits on PMK, hardly anybody seems to want to, they just keep buying. I topped up a little during the dip, but wishing I had a lot more funds. Looking like a fire sale over on HHO, might be worth watching.

moneyplus - 09 Dec 2005 12:12 - 52 of 112

squidd don't you just love this share--up again this morning I'm surprised Shore capital sold a chunk so early bet they're regretting it now!

squidd - 10 Dec 2005 14:49 - 53 of 112

moneyplus: The latest rise puts PMK almost at the top of the LSE All Share leader board since early September, with a 4X multiple, and way ahead of everything else on this BB except possibly for QXL. This thread should be buzzing with excitement, yet you and me are the only ones apparently interested in it. I despair of my fellow investors who continue to back their pets, many of which to me look like no-hopers. I'm also virtually the only one backing ELA, which I've flagged on this BB, and which likewise is performing very strongly. Oh well, we can only lead them to the water.
I'm looking hard at PCM again after noting the QXL phenomenon.

moneyplus - 10 Dec 2005 14:58 - 54 of 112

I'm in PCM and prepared to hold long term--bid TV over here is certainly pulling in addicts so I imagine PCM will do the same for chinese buyers now they've streamlined the group and raised funding until 2007 end I feel the rewards are just around the corner!! I certainly hope so as I'm taking a hammering on VOG and wondering whether to cut and run. agree with you about the lack of interest but I found this with my threads on HBG and PRTY both have performed well also Neteller was ignored for ages and look what happened there!! it wouls be very nice if PMK goes the same way but who knows. enjoy your weekend.

squidd - 13 Dec 2005 09:56 - 55 of 112

Finally some profit taking, but the there doesn't yet seem to be heavy selling; perhaps just a breather on the way up.

moneyplus - 13 Dec 2005 11:45 - 56 of 112

squidd-bound to happen though the whole market is slipping today do you think this is a general sell off before the christmas break?? I tried to buy ELA through squaregain 3 times yesterday each time it told me I didn't have enough funds---is the price 11p as I thought or is it 11 in which case too rich for me!!
