27 Hole G0LF EVENT - Thursday 8th June 2006 (G0LF)

markusantonius - 14 Feb 2006 21:35

* M0NEY-AM G0LF DAY EVENT: 27 HOLES, INCL. SUSTENANCE & PRIZES (IN ADDITION TO M0NEY-AM SPONSORED PRIZES!) on: -
THURSDAY, 08 JUNE, 2006 *

So several months have passed... Based on the success of last Summer's Event at Longcliffe G.C., a few of you have asked me to take over the reigns from PTH and organise another G0LF M0NEY-AM DAY again based in the MIDLANDS. This is fairEST to the majority coming from all over the UK! From initial feedback (reflecting on 2005 36-Hole hot mid-Summer's day!), the popular view for a 2006 Event has been agreed, as follows: -

* Tea/Coffee on arrival.
* 9 Holes (4BBB 3/4 Stab.) Comp.
* Sandwiches/Lunch.
** 18 Holes (MAIN INDIVIDUAL (FULL HANDICAP) STABLEFORD EVENT) with M-AM and Golfing Prizes for Winners, incl. "Nearest-to-the-Pin" on the 9th. Hole and "The-Longest-Drive" on the 18th. Hole.
* 3-Course Evening Dinner (full waitress service), incl. coffee & mints + Prize Presentation/Mic. Table.

(** ADDITIONAL PRIZES from our generous SPONSORS include: - 3 months worth of Shares Magazine sent to the homes of EACH COMPETITOR every week. The Overall Winner will get The Money-AM Annual Golf Challenge Cup to keep for good plus 1 year's worth of Money-AM Level 2 service worth 357.50 + Vat. The Runner-Up and Third Placed Winners will each get a medal to keep plus 6 months' level 2.)

Venue: - H0RSLEY L0DGE G.C., Belper, Derbyshire (Championship Meadowland Course with American-type Greens). Refreshments will be in the On-Site Kingfisher Restaurant. Entry Fee is: - 60 per Competitor which will cover all of the above ** plus enough to buy some additional golfing prizes.

Entry fee for the day is 60 (payable in advance), which includes:

27 Holes of competition play
Refreshments throughout the day

And I'm a bit busy trying to suss where he left the rest of it, Bob.

Bobcolby - 26 May 2006 13:07 - 372 of 505

Choc, he is always on about flogging dead horses, so its not a problem for mugleone

fliper - 26 May 2006 15:30 - 373 of 505

Markus ,I have 5 games in 5 days , a day off then 4 in 4 with the 5th june at horsley in the dugc am-am . If this does not put me into form nothing will !

markusantonius - 27 May 2006 01:25 - 374 of 505

Huh. Been away for a few days up North and I come back to find Elle Chox in bed with the wrong end of a headless donkey! Jeez, what is the world coming too, these days?

Fliper, I think that PTH is the "man in form" atm - down to 15.9 whereas The Shark is back into double-figures for the first time since last summer. :o( BTW Peter wants a pre-M/AM social game, as well. So maybe we could arrange a 3-ball for next week sometime - a good chance for you to meet last year's inaugural organiser perhaps?

My hcp is 18.1 not 18.2

tks Bob

markusantonius - 28 May 2006 22:13 - 377 of 505

OK, Bob, sorted, above. The bad news is that, under current standings, you will be partnering PTH in the morning 4BBB !!

ptholden - 28 May 2006 22:16 - 378 of 505

Don't worry Bob, it could be even worse you could be playing with Markus, enough to put anyone off golf for life :-)

chocolat - 28 May 2006 22:23 - 379 of 505

Give it time, Bob.
Another week should do it ;)

markusantonius - 31 May 2006 23:16 - 380 of 505

Interesting how Markus has sneaked up to 10: lots of hard luck stories. PTH may well be the form man - arguing he's been away from golf for a while but look what that did for David Howell!

fliper - 01 Jun 2006 19:54 - 385 of 505

Markus , found a bit of form at the weekend and lost 0.4 now 5.8

markusantonius - 01 Jun 2006 20:46 - 386 of 505

Well played, Fliper - now lose another 0.4 and get down to a 'Category One' 5 again!

To: ALL PARTICIPANTS...

Please note that I plan to post final arrangements for "The 5th. Major" on Tuesday evening between: 21:00 & midnight. This will confirm everything you need to know, incl. all tee-off times, 3-Ball and 4BBB players & pairings, checking-in/hotel/car-
parking/changing facilities, eating arrangements and Prizes details, etc., etc..

Therefore may I respectively ask that you post any last-minute amendments to handicaps, personal 4BBB playing requests and anything else which you would like me to consider * no later than 20:00 on Monday * if possible? I am endeavouring to accommodate everyone, as best I can...

Played a round with Markus today at HL, played an absolute shocker, so my odds should move to total outsider. Only consolation was Markus' form was also shoddy, but that was probably me dragging him down to my level!!.

The course is in beautiful condition, well presented and the greens fast and true. Think those who haven't played HL before may struggle on the undulating greens, very difficult to judge the pace.

Eric, the way I was driving today, your bet is safe!!

I am sure we will all have a great day, as long as Markus manages to turn up on time. Pitched up today on the tee, at exactly TOT, so not late but ..............

pth

EWRobson - 02 Jun 2006 21:22 - 389 of 505

Suggest Markus stays overnight at the Club Wednesday night. At least he can then greet us in his dressing gown or whatever he wears, if anything! I've heard it before, pth, talking your own chances down: happy to take an each way bet.

Eric
