Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Jules,

Out of interest, are you also using Trade Seeker?

ca n you call me. I left the numberwith Karl

qwento,

If you're viewing Level2 via the MoneyAM website and also accessing the Level2 stream via your software, that's what would be causing your log offs.

You can't access the Level2 stream via two methods at the same time - they appear as different display devices.

J - Nope.

I'll do another test tomorrow if you want.

I, like Jules, and getting constant messages on Level 2 and terminals saying I'm logged on from another location... but I'm definitely not. I've had it eight times in the last ten minutes.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 21 Sep 2005 08:07 - 3711 of 7315

Maggot,

You're using two different browsers to access the service. That's why you're being logged off.

J.

Maggot - 21 Sep 2005 08:13 - 3712 of 7315

Wow. Ok. But I've been doing this for months. Internet Explorer tends to seize up, so I have some windows open on Mozilla. I'll try using just one.

I must confess the trouble has only started since I tried opening Level 2 on the other computer at the same time as it was open on this one. I did it once and haven't done it since.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 21 Sep 2005 08:18 - 3713 of 7315

Maggot,

The LSE's requirements are that we disallow multiple display devices or connection methods at the same time, using one account, on our Level2 product.

Code for this went in place a few weeks ago (and was commented on in this thread)

TullettJ,

I'm constantly losing connection to level2 - over 100 times so far today - I'm running tradeseeker, I have only one display device and I've only just logged into the moneyam website to report this.

Cheers Rob

wildrob,

I have passed this onto JT,

Ian

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 21 Sep 2005 11:16 - 3716 of 7315

wildrob,

Your streaming connections are coming in from different IP addresses each time which is triggering the kick off mechanism.

Do you know why this would be?

J.

wildrob - 21 Sep 2005 11:24 - 3717 of 7315

TulletJ,

I've no idea, since I'm only using 1 display device.

Cheers Rob

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 21 Sep 2005 11:28 - 3718 of 7315

wildrob,

You'll need to speak to whoever's providing your internet connection (be it work, or the ISP) and ask why simultaneous connections to our servers by you come from different IP addresses.

You'll then need to ask them to stop it from happening.

As they're coming for different IP addresses it looks like the account is being used by multiple people, which is why you're being kicked off.

TullettJ. Thanks for explanation re two browsers - indeed I commented at the time re two Level 2s operating.

edit. I see Post No 1 now explains this fully.

One other thing - in the last 10 days I appear to have lost Moneyam News Alert. Do I have to download a new version? When I open it, I am invited to do so.

wildrob - 21 Sep 2005 12:23 - 3720 of 7315

TullettJ,

You're right, my ISP has informed me that their caching sever is the likely cause of the different IP addresses. They asked for the administor's contact details and said they would look into it. Could you give me those details please?

Cheers Rob.
