what a morning!! quite happy with my first foray into cfds. started one on friday and closed it today. a bit calmer now and re reading the rns. this tony ruane guy really loves seo.

"Tony Ruane, Technical Manager at ASDA said:

'The benefits are now proving to be substantially beyond our original thinking
and as a result we will look to accelerate the introduction of this technology
to full scale commercial production.

'The second trial is commencing on Wednesday 11th May at Hitchens Foods, where
we will be trialling the process on layered salads and other items in the ASDA
own label range of Hitchens products.'

Ian Balchin, CEO of Stanelco commented:

'These trials are producing benefits well beyond our expectations and we look
forward to the imminent commercial discussions that are now being arranged.'"

this phrase i love...
"we will look to accelerate the introduction of this technology
to full scale commercial production."

well i'm not surprised if it helped increase sales of salmon by 21%!!!!

Must confess - I nearly took some profits at 23 - but that last throwaway comment reproduced above by 016622 made me hold back. There is much much more to come on this one - I do agree

With such a bad market it's nice to have one like this ,,im very overweight ,and pleased to be so..JB..

016622 - 10 May 2005 09:14 - 3707 of 27111

nobody can ignore increased sales of 21%, I would be very surprised not to see a great deal of coverage from hereon in.

Jacks - 10 May 2005 09:21 - 3708 of 27111

II, come on then let's hear what you have to say for yourself. Let's hope ASDA start to pack humble pie using SEO technology, they might give you a huge slice.

bosley - 10 May 2005 09:21 - 3709 of 27111

absolutely 016622. i bet signor ruane is thinking that if greenseal can have even half that effect across products it can be used on then it wont be long before tesco get knocked into second place. you can guarantee the big boys at walmart will have been informed.
mmmmm....i wonder if the competition can help increase sales by 21%!!!!

bhunt1910 - 10 May 2005 09:26 - 3710 of 27111

Have you noticed - the sells have stopped - the news is sinking in and people are buying at 22.75

This is good news

Anyone bought any ASDA shares yet ??

016622 - 10 May 2005 09:30 - 3712 of 27111

yes, lots of buyers piling in

driver - 10 May 2005 09:33 - 3713 of 27111

I walked him to school none of this 4 by 4 stuff I can't stand the things (sorry Di) but if you get hit by one you will know it.
Any way this 21% is an amazing figure and a bit hard to swallow but if that is what they said, it could make Asda m's on top of the packaging saving, it all looks good from here.

jimmy b - 10 May 2005 09:35 - 3714 of 27111

You should be able to give the little lad his pocket money back now from last time , you've earn't it today!!

driver - 10 May 2005 09:45 - 3715 of 27111

I havent given him any for a couple of weeks, his got a bad memory he doesnt ask for it and I don't remind him. I think his making loads with his sweat-selling racket in the playground.

bhunt1910 - 10 May 2005 09:49 - 3716 of 27111

Now is that 1m trade really a buy or is it a real sell. If its a protected traansaction - presumably someone was trying to buy or sell stock at a given price. I think its a buy - can anyone support/dispute that - or is it even relevant. This is me trying to do my learning bit.

Thanks Baza

driver - 10 May 2005 09:59 - 3717 of 27111

1910
NOT relevant.

forget for a moment how much it will make ASDA but what about Young's and all other food manufacturers who might be watching these trials.
If it adds 21% to Youngs product sales....

As I predicted the spinny "we have got no orders and its May - but hey things are great" RNS coming this week - a reason behind it IMO.

A*da need a document to apply pressure to the suppliers to change their machines - too much face to be lost - so what better than some fudgy figures on sales - with no clarification that the "only" change was RF sealing (they do not state whether the packaging was changed - as in new brighter more attractive wording - change of wording or graphics - any special promotion - any change of position in the store - a change of positon within the fridges) - they just believe.

And here it is - something to go bash those reluctant suppliers with - you must change as we think its going to be great - read the RNS.

Somethings fishy - is it the Salmon ?

Lots of sensible people taking a good bid price to sell at the moment and take profits.

This is great news for RHPS investors - they said BUY at 14.88 up to max 18p.
They can now say Sell at 22.5p and take profits of over 50%.
I think Tom would not like them holding going into massive interim loss reporting period.

Well done the PR dept - another useless spin document - we have no orders - no revenue from this - interims are coming - its a big loss - but look at the Salmon.

016622 - 10 May 2005 10:09 - 3721 of 27111

sounds like someone else is on a BIG loss...
cut it ii and buy back...
tos...!
