Entering a different CD Key to the one on the CD as ADAM suggests can lead to subsequent problems installing service packs. You're probably better off using the same CD Key as on the installation CD and then cracking the WPA and WGA. You can buy WPA cracks on eBay for 1 or 2.

I'm with AOL. I have two computers, and a router. At first they worked fine - always on. Now neither computer will allow me to connect to broadband unless I'm logged on to aol. Since I can't log on to aol on both computers at the same time I can't have them both on the net together. I used to be able to do it, though. I need cmc on the spare, because it slows everything up.

AOL are no use - they say they can provide full support information on only a few routers and my model, a D-Link, is not one of them. It's obviously aol doing something, though. I want to change ISP at the next opportunity, though my computer man has aol, and the same router, and has no problems.

AOL are also very expensive.

Sounds to me like your router has been reset. You might need to renter you AOL log in details into the router again.

Usually to do this the router guide will give you an IP address to access the router such as 190.0.0.0 then you can enter the log in and password and make sure you save it.

I cannot access the internet on my laptop following an upgrade to the antispam 2005 version. The download obviously failed as I get messages saying pages are missing The help provided via Norton's site always assume I have internet connection. I can't get all the Norton off my computer using add/remove programmes and need a download from Norton. Anyone any ideas how I could get the internet connection working?

In the address bar of the Internet Explorer window does it say anything? I am trying to establish whether Norton is trying to connect to their web site or not.

No, I cannot get the Norton software running at all. I get 2 error messages one saying a file is missing and the other that a file is damaged or missing.

Have you tried disabling your firewall? IS it the XP one or the Norton one?

Yes I have tried disabling the XP fiewall but no effect. I can't do anything with Norton. I have also contactedNorton technical support. They have given me a link to their live support as my laptop can't download. Will let you know how I get on, thanks

Norton Anti-customerfriendly is worse than Samsung mobile phone software imo, sutherlh1. I tried to upgrade their poxy software a few months back and ended up chucking the bloody thing in the bin and re-installing Windows. My PC's worked about 10 times better without it.

Sorry slightly confused, your PC went the bin? and you have installed windows on your phone? I couldnt get any response at all from Samsung tech support via web enquiry or email. And took Norton AV off and am using good old FREE AVG which seems to work very well. Oh and Free Zone Alarm firewal too. Dont trust Bills buggy version.

Help please. WinXP SP2 full up to date.

AVG scan always says I have a read error on 5 system files. I have tried to re copy these 5 files over from backup directories but the file is always in use. Even booting to command prompt only, they are still in use. Is there another way to replace systemfiles. I have tried booting from a floppy but of course it cant see the NTFS drives.
Any ideas please. the 5 files are all dlls kernel32, wsock32, shell32, ntoskrnl32, and user32.dll Is there a "repair" facility. wi
