Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Haystack - 27 Jun 2016 16:09 - 3738 of 12628

I thought Cameron would be PM is we remained. In common with almost everybody including the Leave campaign I thought Remain would win. Farage helped produce a referendum, but Boris won it.

cynic - 27 Jun 2016 16:18 - 3739 of 12628

not entirely ..... corbyn ran a successful 5th column

VICTIM - 27 Jun 2016 16:27 - 3740 of 12628

Any way cynics dead right they had better get on with it and not split and argue otherwise there will be a backlash for the Cons . Boris's neighbours were booing him Friday .

cynic - 27 Jun 2016 16:39 - 3741 of 12628

not convinced that boris is the right man for the job
leaving his persona aside, he may be seen as too divisive

cynic - 27 Jun 2016 16:46 - 3742 of 12628

someone mentioned some eu(?) meeting at sintra
good to see they'll be convening at somewhere exceedingly exclusive and expensive ..... never mind; it won't cost them a bean, nor the expensive banqueting and wines

Fred1new - 27 Jun 2016 17:01 - 3743 of 12628

Will you be waiting at table hoping for a few tips?

cynic - 27 Jun 2016 17:05 - 3744 of 12628

wouldn't mind doing that ...... it's a bugger of a place to get to, though now much easier with the motorway

iturama - 27 Jun 2016 17:10 - 3745 of 12628

Jolly for the central bankers. Fraternisation. Carney will not be going, business at home.

cynic - 27 Jun 2016 17:20 - 3746 of 12628

i think this is the modest establishment ......
Tivoli Palácio de Seteais

like the eu and its plutocracy, a report stated "The hotel is starting to show signs of tiredness. The grounds are huge and parts of the gardens are unkempt and dying. The dinner in the restaurant was very disappointing, food expensive, unattractive and tasteless"

Fred1new - 27 Jun 2016 17:44 - 3747 of 12628

Motorways built with EU money for holiday makers.

iturama - 27 Jun 2016 17:52 - 3748 of 12628

I had a nice stay at the Tivoli in Lisbon. Food was good and rooms quite comfortable. There are plenty of good restaurants also within walking distance. I recommended it to a Brazilian couple and they loved it. For overnight stays between flights i also like the Corinthian. Nice roof top restaurant. Good breakfast.

Nigel Evans, Conservative MP and a Leave campaigner has said immigration will not fall significantly as a result of Brexit, saying the referendum results only means 'control' not a fall in numbers. He said that there appears to be some misunderstanding about the consequences of Brexit. When asked if migration to the UK would fall significantly now the country was leaving te EU, Mr Evans answered: "No." He said: "Under the new Australian points system we will be able to control immigration."According to N figures, immigration per head is much higher in Australia than in the UK.

cynic - 27 Jun 2016 18:00 - 3750 of 12628

one of your typically stupid comments fred

btw, it's the ECB Forum on Central Banking in Sintra, and it looks like they hold it there every year ...... how cosy for them; the greeks must appreciate it

MaxK - 27 Jun 2016 18:23 - 3751 of 12628

Under the Australian points system, you have to have something they want.

ie, skills or money or both. Not much room for car washers and benefit seekers.

Haystack - 27 Jun 2016 18:29 - 3752 of 12628

How many loyal Corbyn MPs does it take to change a light bulb?

Both of them.

Haystack - 27 Jun 2016 18:52 - 3753 of 12628

Hands up if you want to be in the Shadow Cabinet

iturama - 27 Jun 2016 19:06 - 3754 of 12628
