THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

I do think that The USA for all its good intentions should not have allowed individual states to legalize certain drugs...cannabis etc....this drug blows your mind.....not straight away but after regular use...and the changes to brain changes peoples personalities effecting thinking, reasoning and general behaviour.
The states (Colorado is one of them) that are allowing this are also putting at risk other surrounding states even they have chosen a different path for their citizens....very selfish.....
There is no way that the United States should allow individual states to decide their own way of controlling this plague because there are fifty of them.....and there are bound to be a certain percentage of states that will make the wrong decision.
Drugs need to be harnessed in a sensible way....the addictions are terrible and should drugs for a patient be needed : only a doctor should prescribe them.
Uncle Sam is setting a very bad example....

David Cameron aide Patrick Rock resigns over child porn allegations

A close aide to David Cameron, who was involved in drawing up government policy on internet porn filters, has resigned over allegations relating to child abuse images.

Patrick Rock was arrested by detectives from the National Crime Agency (NCA) over a ‘potential offence’ relating to child porn, according to Downing Street.

The 62-year-old, who was deputy head of No 10′s policy unit, was held at his home on February 13.

In a statement, Downing Street said: ‘On the evening of February 12 Downing Street was first made aware of a potential offence relating to child abuse imagery.

‘It was immediately referred to the NCA. The prime minister was immediately informed and kept updated throughout. Patrick Rock was arrested at his home in the early hours of February 13, a few hours after Downing Street had reported the matter.

‘Subsequently, we arranged for officers to come into No 10 and have access to all IT systems and offices they considered relevant.

‘This is an on-going investigation so it would not be appropriate to comment further, but the prime minister believes that child abuse imagery is abhorrent and that anyone involved with it should be properly dealt with under the law.’

Leading search engine companies Google and Microsoft agreed in November to introduce changes that will prevent child abuse images from being listed in results for more than 100,000 search terms.

An NCA spokeswoman declined to comment, stating it did not name suspects on arrest.

37723 - that sort of rubbish is exactly why this thread has lost the plot .... it could be fun and interesting, but instead, it has become the home of the soapbox ranters, so that any interesting comments or views are swamped within 30 minutes ....great shame

The child pornography won't affect the polls. It was number 10 that called the police.

goldfinger - 04 Mar 2014 20:28 - 37730 of 81564

Cyners you mean you are slowing down. It was all tounge in cheek anyway.

Lets not forget we were swamped on a far bigger scale last week by the blues brothers pumping the Harman smear which now turns up to have just been a cover up for this Tory sleaze.

goldfinger - 04 Mar 2014 20:29 - 37731 of 81564
