Things soon got going again after the scuffle.
Paul Jacobs returned after getting a bogy but couldn't get it off his finger but that diddn't stop his concentration on the clock tower.

Morning all.
Yesterday proved to be a great success and we were blessed with fantastic weather. The morning started off with a phone call from PJ who was stuck on the M25 in the world's biggest traffic jam and Markus who was still in bed. Well, he is old and needs all the sleep he can get! However, we all managed to get teed off by 1030 in three teams of three. Many lost balls later, the combination of Markus, Eric & Canary 9 had won the team event and in the process relieved the rest of us of 5 each.
A quick break for lunch and liquid refreshment was followed by the main event. As it transpired the hot favourite playing on his home course (moi!) blew up on the front nine, (I think it was the lager at lunchtime) and never really got back into contention. Meanwhile Eric & Markus were playing steady golf, whilst the majority of the rest of us were wondering around the deep rough looking for more lost balls.
Ultimately, Eric ran out a worthy winner with 33 pts, a great score on a tough course, and Eric if I may say so, you showed remarkable stamina and fitness for one of the older entrants, a great effort. Young Markus finished in the runner's up spot with 31 pts and Predateur third with 28 pts. Congratulations to you all.
Nearest to the pin on the 5th was won by errrrrrrrrr nobody as not one of us managed to get on the green. Nearest to the pin on the 15th was scooped by yours truly, with Paul Jacobs taking the prize for second nearest to the pin. The first time in the history of golf that a prize for second nearest to the pin has been given!! Well, we had to do something with the prize originally assigned to the 5th, (and we had to make sure that AM won something). Longest Drive was won by MG, well, actually it wasn't really the longest drive, but it was the only one that stayed on the fairway! Most appropriate though as MG had a mare of an afternoon and there's nothing more likely to cheer you up than going home with a few goodies.
All in all, everyone had a great day out, although walking down the 18th at 8 o'clock in the evening, I should have remembered to book the paramedics. Absolutely exhausting, most of us walked double the distance looking for errant balls and the members will have a field day during the coming weeks, picking them all up. Not too sure they will want your 'Noodles' though Paul J.
Many thanks to everyone who turned up and supported the event. Sorry those that had to work or for other reasons were unable to attend, don't worry there will be another one next year. Special thanks to 'Bully' of AM for providing support and sponsorship, which made the day just that little bit more intense, it really was appreciated. Eric is now wondering what to do with 1 years free subscription for Level 2!!
There is photographic eveidence of the day which will be posted later, wilbs, keep your fingers off the keyboard!!
Once again, many thanks to all for your support.
