"May 10, 2005 10:17 AM US Eastern Timezone "

what time would that be here?

hampi_man - 10 May 2005 20:48 - 3789 of 27111

10:17 ET should make it 15:17 here

bosley - 10 May 2005 21:17 - 3790 of 27111

if that's the case, hampi, then why wasn't this news released over here? i thought price sensitive news had to be released straight away to the market.

zscrooge - 10 May 2005 21:19 - 3791 of 27111

Bos - no toe yet. Will probably still be chunnering about inlfated market cap, no turnover or sales when the sp hits 60p. LOL. Sentiment is a marvel to behold.

driver - 10 May 2005 21:21 - 3792 of 27111

bos
Its not that price sensitive, Retailers will be impressed, its just the beginning there is no orders as yet.

bhunt1910 - 10 May 2005 21:33 - 3793 of 27111

Stanelco success continues
LONDON (ShareCast) - Stanelco (LSE: SEO.L - news) proved a hit with investors yet again after the packaging specialist said that its technology Advertisement

has been boosting sales of products.

Its new Greenseal technology has been used in a first stage full-scale production trial, packaging fresh salmon for Youngs Bluecrest, which has now been completed.

Sales of the product surged 21% over the two weeks and Asda told Stanelco that the increase was a direct result of a number of factors attributable to its technology.

The packaging is not only said to be more attractive but there were also no reported leaking packs, reducing waste at store level.

In March Stanelco announced that it had signed a binding contract with Asda for a 12-month exclusive agreement for the use of its Greenseal tray lidding technology in the UK and Ireland.

so, the great share guru reckons tom ( rhps ) will advise selling for a 50% gain?

there are 3 main scenarios that i think could be likely after bulfords meeting with hughes today.

1) he WILL recommend selling for 50% gain.
2) he MAY recommend top slicing ( ie sell half ).
3) he has just had a meeting with a guy who KNOWS how to sell his company/products.........ON THE VERY DAY OF A MAJOR RNS jammed full of good news ( not to mention hints of more imminently ). i am sure that much would have been said wrt the rns than was issued to us mere mortals. a great opportunity to make sure rhps is a buyer.

rhps had egg on its face recently, when a sell rec ( i believe ) occurred the same day as a huge rise.

make your own minds up, but i opt for 3)

bosley - 10 May 2005 21:44 - 3797 of 27111

as is fear and greed mr scrooge!
driver, i am going to have to disagree with you. if seo are setting up camp in america with one of their products and planning to pitch and market it to major american retailers then i want to know about it. there are no orders for greenseal in america yet, but just the news that seo are going to pitch to walmart sent the shares up. i think it should have been released over here at the same time and i'm bloody annoyed that it wasn't.

bosley - 10 May 2005 21:48 - 3798 of 27111

charliec, we know. superrod, if you are a rhps subscriber can you keep us informed of any seo mentions, please.

superrod - 10 May 2005 21:53 - 3799 of 27111

bosley, i am, but you will have to read between the lines of anything i post. for one i dont want to lose my sub, and two, not to sound too sanctimonious, but peeps pay for the rhps info. they ( rhps ) are VERY quick to jump on "bulletin board thieves"

driver - 10 May 2005 21:55 - 3800 of 27111

It is fantastic news; yes on second thoughts you may be right. SEO may announce some thing tomorrow; they do not normally hold back. And we do want to have that pint.

EWRobson - 10 May 2005 22:01 - 3801 of 27111

Do you realise, guys and gals, that we have the one and only CharlieLincs amongst us - leader of the Shares Champion Challenge. Due deference. What's all this Charlie about you making your money by shorting, not SEO I assume or you would have slid down the rankings. What with bos leading the ASOS Challenge Portfolio, this is getting quite a heady place for us ordinary mortals! Good luck; hope you end up second to yours truly (languishing around the 500 mark but with some powerful shots in his locker!).

Re CFDs, my approach is to treat them much as buying shares (after all its only a difference in scale), running the profits and cutting the losses. You really have to do the latter rather than hoping for recovery which might be your approach with shares directly. I have left the greater part of my SEO holding in although I have done some selling and buying back in - once or twice that has been forced because the overlll position has demanded it. I have tended to re-invest much of the open position in other holdings and this has been the wrond action more ofter than not. The only other holding I have in CFDs at the moment is ASC which I bought into at 42.5p for recovery and plan to add as opportune; I am looking for a run back up to mirror last year but need some positive feedback before increasing the stake much more. The point I was going to make is that I would have been better off letting the surplus accumulate. I would have been even better off by re-investing in more SEO but that would be higher risk, termed pyramid building - the whole thing could come down like a pack of cards. But the bigger the risk taken the biggger the potential reward. To sum up, if you would buy 25000 shares but are buying CFDs put the same sum in buq acquire 125000 shares and then act just as you would with the shares.

As to the SEO sp. We are now up to a cap. of 200m. This cap is justified if there are some 1000 machine sales by 2007. Expectation is that ASDA will provide one-third of this figure: this may or may not be confirmed in the coming weeks. The ASDA supplier firm orders could see the sp move to the 25p to 28p level. Wal-Mart could take the sp into orbit if it is on a much larger scale: from earlier comments by andysmith and others, the potential is much alrger proportionally because of travelling time and the impact on shelf life. Their drive is to move from in-house butchers and GREENSEAL COULD FACILITATE THIS MOVE with terrific savings. Then there is Frogpack with the news released in the US today and what looks like a terrific marketing drive. Any idea on numbers for this one, anyone? From a chartist viewpoint, I think Zak would agree that sp will move in 10p legs at possibly 3 months per leg! How do you like that? I love it!

Morning Bos and all - agree with you - was expecting an RNS this morning.

Still a wonderful morning, clear blue skies - a bit nippy though - lets hope that SEO does not share the nippiness and stays blue - though I suspect it might drift back a little today.
