Tanfield Group - any info out there? (TAN)

mr mike - 21 Jan 2004 13:49

Tanfield Group is the new company name of Comeleon. As I understand it, Comoleon was getting into trouble so TAN (paerent company?) took over. Since this has happened the share price has dropped by 0.25p each day for the last week or so (on average) and are now around the 3p mark with very little activity.

Does anyone know much about this company or previously held stock in Comeleon? There is virtually no info out there other than on the company website.

cheers

Mike

Back in at 1.46 .

If resistance breaks at 130p, TAN is a SELL.

BigTed - 19 Nov 2007 19:03 - 383 of 1076

you mean support, and not sure i agree... at 2.00 a share it had got ahead of itself, but it represents much better value at current levels...

hlyeo98 - 19 Nov 2007 19:28 - 384 of 1076

Sorry, I meant support. Thousand apologies.

BigTed - 19 Nov 2007 19:55 - 385 of 1076

I believe the 146/148p mark ie just below 150 support was key, notice how it dropped substantially at end of day, with the support gone, not sure about a bounce but i would imagine there will be a lot of investors coming home at end of day, looking at their screens and planning on buying tomorrow...

BigTed - 20 Nov 2007 09:15 - 386 of 1076

now below 200dma, will it bounce or (more likely) keep falling, looking at 128p poss... seems to be now out of favour with the market, but that doesn't detract from the fantastic business model of this well run company...

Strawbs - 20 Nov 2007 09:21 - 387 of 1076

Think I'd wait for a bounce around the pound level. It looks to me to be in a down trend channel now. The pound level intersects that channel and is a good phsycological figure to stage a recovery from. In my opinion....

Not invested (in anything (still)).....

126p now...support has been broken too easily...brace for a fall now or sell out.

hlyeo98,See that you are busy tonight including TAN.I posted your fellow shorter m8 Cynic i was neither a fan nor would be a buyer of TAN.We all pays our money and takes our chances.

cynic - 11 Nov 2007 17:59 - 374 of 388
over the last week i have dumped a load of crap from my portfolio (VIY, GOO and a few others) as i think the markets have some way to fall yet ...... against that, i bought back my top-sliced portion of TAN at 149.25 and am now moderately overweight, as indeed i am in IEC, which may or may not prove to have been a smart move.

cynic - 22 Nov 2007 07:43 - 390 of 1076

i know how to lose bundles of money with the best of them! ..... in fact, i have since re-sold 50% of IEC, but on this morning's news, may have been better to sell all(!), and also the extra bit of TAN

fliper - 22 Nov 2007 17:20 - 391 of 1076

Got back in to early , should have waited for this price . 1.25

Big Al - 22 Nov 2007 17:34 - 392 of 1076

Short term buy here?

Longer term, if 120-125p area fails she's got an awful long way to drop. 200d SMA still rising, although breached. Unfortunately 26 wk EMA, which I follow has turned down - not smart, not clever.

Strawbs - 23 Nov 2007 10:44 - 393 of 1076

How short term? :-)

Ultimately I suspect TAN will come back to where it started the year, possibly even lower. Something about the chart reminds me of many I've seen where the "hot money" jumps in to the latest fad, then jumps back out again. A sharp rise up followed by a spikey fall back. It certainly appears to be in a down trend at the moment but I guess only time will tell. I must confess I'm tempted to stick a limit order in at around 86 (which should be good support) and see if I get lucky sometime over the next 6 weeks or so....

In my opinion.

Strawbs.

Today? LOL!

cynic - 23 Nov 2007 11:31 - 395 of 1076

unlike GOO and VIY and AMER and a multitude of other fad (bad joke) blue sky companies, TAN is a very proper company that has been in biz for 80 years from memory.

TAN produces good profits and has an excellent forward-order book.
At what level the share becomes "unmissable value" is too hard for thickos like me to determine ..... for that matter, other than general market malaise and perhaps the weak $, it is unclear to me why sp has fallen quite as far as it has.

Juzzle - 23 Nov 2007 13:25 - 396 of 1076

Five more trading days after today, before EVS-23 (evs23.org) which is the biggest electric vehicles event in the world this year., Smith EV have one of the biggest exhibition stands; bigger than Honda, bigger than Ford. And will be officially unveiling the 12 ton US-specific version of the Newton delivery truck. I imagine they will also be announcing the names of their latest customers - whose names have been held back for maximum impact. Also announcing the commencement of their US production of EVs.

Fred1new - 23 Nov 2007 14:41 - 397 of 1076

I think the SP drop is or was due to many backers sitting on good profits and in this jumpy market, jumped.

What appears to me watching is that the spread changes occasionally are quite wide. NMS is also quite small.

I think on contracts signed future income if very solid over next 5-10years. Depends on future R+D.

Gearing and cover seems OK.

I bought in a SIPP as a long term hold.

BDYOH.

Judging by the intra day chart that should've been about 15 minutes then Al. ;-)
