Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?
If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?
Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?
What will the price of oil be in 4 weeks time?

Fahel.
I hope for and expected more from Obama than he has currently done instigated.
Especially, with regard to the Middle East.
But listening to Jim Wallis, on the To-day programme this morning, you can begin to understand the problems he is up against.

450 Grooms Wed GIRLS Under Ten In Gaza
By Paul L. Williams, Ph.D.
Thelastcrusade.org
A gala event has occurred in Gaza.
Hamas sponsored a mass wedding for four hundred and fifty couples.
Most of the grooms were in their mid to late twenties; most of brides were under ten.
Muslim dignitaries including Mahmud Zahar, a leader of Hamas, were on hand to congratulate the couples who took part in the carefully staged celebration.
We are saying to the world and to America that you cannot deny us joy and happiness, Zahar told the grooms, all of whom were dressed in identical black suits and hailed from the nearby Jabalia refugee camp.
Each groom received a gift of 500 dollars from Hamas.
The pre-pubescent girls, dressed in white gowns and adorned with garish make-up, received bridal bouquets.
We are presenting this wedding as a gift to our people who stood firm in the face of the siege and the war, Local Hamas strongman Ibrahim Salaf said in a speech.
The wedding photos tell the rest of the sordid tale.
The International Center for Research on Women now estimates that there are 51 million child brides now living on planet earth and almost all in Muslim countries.

Sorry, you have been conned. The mass wedding is a false story that has been circulated via email for some time now. The event was supposed to have taken place in 2009. Photos of the grooms with young girls actually show the grooms with young firls who are relatives of either sides of the familes. There was a mass wedding and almost evry girl was over eithteen with the exception of a couple who were 16.
"At such Muslim wedding ceremonies, it is a tradition for young girls to dress up and play a role in the celebrations in a way similar to how flower girls are used in Western wedding ceremonies. Although these young girls do look like little brides, they are certainly not the ones getting married."

Then the grooms, aged about 18 to about 28. They are holding hands with their young nieces and cousins, little girls aged from about 3 to 8, made up to the nines, wearing white wedding dresses.
Our report on this put it into context saying that it took place just a mile from the Israeli border and was a message from Hamas about its strength confidence and future fighters. Oh and that the brides were elsewhere. Pretty straightforward.
It never struck me for a moment that the little girls might later be described in the bloggersphere as the brides! How naive I am.
Dozens, and I mean dozens, of websites took the video of the event and wrote lurid stories about Hamas mass paedophilia with headlines about 450 child brides, and endless copy about how disgusting this was, how it showed how depraved Islam is, et al, ad infinitum. Site after site jumped on the story, linking from one totally wrong load of rubbish to the next . Ill give credit to Tundra Tabloids who at least took down the video, but most sites just ploughed on regardless.

The 450 brides shared none of the glamour, taking seats among the audience of around 1,000 party guests: most couples had already taken part in religious ceremonies elsewhere, with more marriages planned for the next few days.

plenty of old(er) men and "nieces" to be seen in London and elsewhere, and in Far East with pre-pubescents too

It is almost as bad as being sold weapons by the USA and using them against civilians.
Only important difference seems that one action is happening and the other didn't.
But one has the right to believe what one wants to.

Even in the USA there are states whuich allow 13 for females and 14 for males and plenty that allow 15 for females. In almost all Muslim countries the legal limit is 16 for females and 18 for males. That includes Pakistan and most of the Niddle East. The countries that allow younger marries of 12 or lower are almost all in Africa,

i wasn't talking of marriage - unless "temporary marriage" counts I suppose .... "getting to know you" (biblically) would be more apposite
which USA states allow marriage at 13 and 14?

New Hampshire for one
New Hampshire: usually 18, but 14 for males and 13 for females, in cases of "special cause" with parental consent and court permission
12 for Massachusetts
Massachusetts: usually 18 for first marriage, 14 (male) 12 (female) with parental and judicial consent.[

partially right it would seem, but quite extraordinary for all sorts of reasons ....
Massachusetts: Age 18 years or older. A birth certificate may be required to show proof of age. If either party is under 18, a court order from a probate or district court where the minor resides must be obtained before the marriage intentions can be filed.
New Hampshire: A female between the age of 13 and 17 years and a male between the age of 14 and 17 years can be married only with the permission of their parent (guardian) and a waiver. A female below the age of 13 and a male below the age of 14 are not allowed to marry under any conditions. If both parties are nonresidents of NH and are below the age of 18 they cannot be married in NH under any conditions.

Mostly it is Africa except Saudi, where there is no legal limit. A girl who was married at 11 to an 80 year old was seeking a divorce earlier this year. I suppose it was irreconcilable differences! I believe they are thinking of introducing an age limit as a result of this case.

The assassination was carried out by one Greg Hayes in a futile attempt to tarnish the image of Meir Dagan.
Needless to say, the former's plot backfired as all his efforts do and Mr. Dagan's reputation has been further enhanced without lifting a finger to strike down Israel's enemies.

21 international human rights organizations have called for fresh international moves to lift the siege on Gaza immediately and without any conditions attached.
The organizations in a report to be published on Tuesday said that Israel's measures to "ease" the siege on Gaza under international pressures did not change anything in the lives of the civilian population of the Strip.
The non-government organizations, including Amnesty International, and the Norwegian Refugee Council, said that no enough construction materials were allowed into Gaza.
They said that only "minor" progress was made in the freedom of movement for civilians while noting no tangible development on Gaza exports.
