As I'm sure you are aware, we and many of you have had a long and tiresome battle with Java when trying to use our streaming services. We have therefore been working on a solution to remove this problem.
We are pleased to announce that we have a new stockwatch available for use which no longer uses Java. We are currently making this available as a technical beta version, which means we are interested in your feedback regarding performance, bugs and browser/operating system/device compatibility issues (note: design and styling will be addressed in later beta releases).
For the purpose of allowing the old and new stockwatch versions to run concurrently, the technical functionality of the new stockwatch mimics the old one for now (not style, fonts or look). Editing and managing watchlists uses the same process as the current java stockwatch but is now at the top of the page. This will allow you to switch between the versions should you have any problems. All technical features of the current stockwatch are available in the new version
except for the ability to drag resize columns. In the near future and as we migrate away from the java version of stockwatch, we will add new usability features as well as design it up to make the whole stockwatch experience smoother than it has ever been.
As this new version does not require java, you should expect it to work on your android devices and ipad/iphones. For now the display has not been optimised for smaller screens, but this will come in future development.
NOTE: Due to javascript performance in Internet Explorer 8, this new stockwatch can cause high CPU load. We recommend you use a current version of a modern browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox for best results.
The new version can be found on the following link:
http://www.moneyam.com/stockwatch/beta.php
NOTE: Non java versions of streaming trades, streaming news and level 2 will be released over the coming weeks.
Please do not worry about design/style at the moment as this version has not been styled it is purely a technical beta test environment it will be styled before it is released. We have put this here purely for feedback on its technical functionality i.e does it work in your browser and on your PC/Laptop/Tablet/Mobile
Please post your technical feedback in this discussion thread
Thank you for your feedback and we hope you enjoy it

Hi jimmy,
Ian is away. I answered your comments on the other thread you posted in. This thread is about stockwatch only so I'll remove the comments from here.
Regards
George

I think it is about stockwatch and every other page George ,it's killed my internet and i can not now use Moneyam , who thought it was a good idea to have Barry Scott screaming at you every time you change a page.
I have never made a complaint to MAM before until today ,this is quite ridiculous you have a new video on every page.

Pathetic, Idiot videos, stupid pop-ups, cannot clear my card details and I am paying for it. I can't trust this company with my card details so I am getting a new card. Annoying.
I will not be renewing my subscription. Did not even get a reply when I asked a question about the precision of share prices in general.
On top of that I cannot view live Share prices as it only works occasionally, could it be that their servers are overwhelmed?

Why am I paying to be bombarded with pop-up ads and idiot streaming videos?

MoneyAM - think about this......
The question is will Moneyam loose more customers and their long standing 'good will' to stay with the website / service, than they would gain from pathetic annoying auto-video advertising clips. Looks like punters are voting with their feet already.
C'mon MoneyAM; sort this out and dump this irritating pop-up. I do not need to see a repeat after repeat during every click I make on the site.
I'm sure MoneyAM can see sense here.
Yours in anticipation. HAb

I'll add my voice to the criticism of the videos and audio. It is very irritating and distracting. Please get rid of them.

Videos turn back on after a certain amount of time. Why am I paying for this? It is not what I signed up for. MoneyAM are becoming a laughing stock; all for a few short term quid from advertisers, wonder if they like being associated with this?

Exec,
Rest assured we do care, I don't have control of the adverts on the site, but feedback from you guys has been highlighted to our advertising department. The advert campaign is due to cease on 9th April. We will not be repeating this campaign.

If you are using Chrome.
The ADblock video blocker does work. (follow simple instructions)
It is simple to down load from within Customise and down load within the Chrome package!
You can switch the blocker on and off.

IanT(MoneyAM),
Well do for fronting up and letting us know that these irritating adverts will not be repeated as a advertising policy. The stockwatch page should be kept 'advert free'; punters do not read the ads anyway, but get irritated when they 'squeeze' the available page.
You have now just scored 'brownie points' from the punters for such a simply response. I would like to recommend you for the position of MoneyAM Man/Director.
Well done for the response.

Too late, I cancelled my account. Too much time wasted (this is just a final rant!)
Why should I spend time (in a paid for service) switching moronic video ads on and off?
Using Google and First Direct, Anyone else know anywhere that does not treat their paying clients like this? That is as suckers?
Marketing: thoughtless, short term, money grabbers, etc.
Final rant over....

Nick,
Your feedback is duly noted and fully understood. We have reacted to the fact that this has generated complaints by taking the decision not to run another such campaign after this one ends on 9th April.
