african minerals appears to be upping its stake - possible takeover / offer?

i put my small profit in lonmin.....£1 up so far from my ave.,.

have now shorted here at 34 with a stop at 40 and a limit at 25.25, as unfortunately i'll prob be in a meeting by the time the news comes out and/or market opens ...... however, there looks to be little or no buying interest, and any news on monday is surely going to have to be pretty amazing if hefty profit taking is not to ensue .... we shall see

was expecting news today, but perhaps later ...... in any case, effectively no interest at all in this stock today

now it may be that his info was a bit wonky, but if not, it should be of considerable concern that this update from BAO is now relatively significantly overdue ..... that never presages well, though i admit to being an interested party (short!)

sp currently drifting day by day, so a caveat is certainly in order after such a massive run north

Cynic, No specific dates were said. Just during Feb, So technically not overdue. Good time to close yer short. That's what the company is obviously waiting for. ;-)

i note your useful comment blanche, but meanwhile interest in this stock has faded away and it continues to drift south ..... i am now nicely in money, and i may heed your advice to bank a(nother) nice profit, say before w/e .... certainly i need to remind myself that shares are for making money and that it is all too easy to blow profits, even with sensible stops in place

i heeded your advice and obeyed my own discipline .... i can now watch and wait with total equanimity :-)

I'm only joking but it could be read that you were thinking of shorting (post 392).
Then post (393) some three days later if you shorted later that day, your post states you indeed shorted . The day of this post the share happens to lets say crash after the three days before were fairly modest falls. It can be read this way, not that I am reading it that way. In other words not to be picked up about it, would be best would it not, to post ones actions not three days later?

Very fair what I have written . Put it another way - An oil company is a few days away from TD. I come on the thread and say I might come in on this one. Three days later no oil found, the share crashes. Then when I'm asked, I say no did not come in in the end.
Then the same again on another oil company near to TD. I write I may come in on this one. A few days later they announce millions barrels of oil found, the share races north. I then write on the thread I was in. How long can I do this before questions are asked. lol
