Entertainment Rights Plc

We look forward to the first full year's contribution from our 2004 acquisitions; The Filmation library of classic contemporary animated programming and Tell-Tale Productions, the creative talent behind the hugely successful TweeniesTM. The integration of Filmation is complete and the successful roll-out of DVD titles for Fat AlbertTM and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe(R) in the US, reaffirms the Board's belief that 2005 will be a significant year for the library. Tell-Tale Productions' integration into the Company has beenrealised and the TweeniesTM live arena show, 'No Sleep 'Till Bedtime' has recently toured the country playing to a total audience of over 110,000. Work continues on Tell-Tale's strong and innovative development and production slate with Tell-Tale's brand new programming Fun Song Factory and BB3B enjoying ratings success on CiTV and the BBC respectively.
The Company is well positioned for long-term growth via its strategy of aggregating quality owned and third party multi-media content. Demand for our content has never been higher as the digital age transforms the global mediamarket. The Board is confident that trading remains in line with market expectations.'

This company is well positioned to go onward and upwards, a nice stock to have in your portfolio, and tell your kids a bedtime story all about your Postman Pat investment. Zzzzzz zzzzzz

Sorry I am out of these as perversely stated Im just keeping the thread going, here are a couple of pros and con posts from another board on todays results.

Funnily enough, I agree in that ER does have the goods - but clearly not the management to deliver them. Surely that Saga-lout Heap, with his outrageous bonuses must go? Him and that Bunbury of a non-existant Chairman Bransgrove. Let the younger blood rise and this company could have excellent long-term prospects. But right now, these results reflect the fact that Heap is seriously past his sell-by date and should be replaced.
It's a shame that they've tried to bump up these results with news of what seems to be a very good distribution deal. Time for a change of PR too.
If ever a company was ripe for takeover, this is it. But can we trust Heap not to screw up? No, because he knows the first thing to go under a new regime will be him. The institutions should be baying for his blood right now. The ordinary shareholders certainly are.

I tend to disagree with the results being poor, YES if you are after a quick buck on the gamble of the results.
"Whilst ER's financial performance has historically been weighted to the second half, this will be more evident in
2006. The Board remains confident that ER is on course to meet market
expectations for the full year."
You have got to remember that they are now reporting figures as and when they get paid, this was not the case last year so it does look somewhat reduced.

I am still suspicious of the 20million buy/sell recently if they were sells then surely the price would have tanked further, if they were buys then I think could be some stake building.

This was debated on BBC radio this morning. The public are outraged they could do this to Rupert.

Could this be why the shareprice has steadily fallen lately and again today.

Driver yours 26th

Thanks for assessment which was very helpful .... I'm rather confused as you start by saying "I am out of these" and end by saying "I am a happy holder" or did I miss something.

However the present downward trend in quote as we go towards year end is not encouraging.

Thinking of taking profits before the results.

I'm back in today.

House broker Collins Stewart has a target price of 60p, while Dresdner Kleinwort has described it as its media sector tip of the year!

Could also become an attractive takeover target!

Also tipped in the Sunday Telegraph

Theres been a lot of heavy buying recently I can see this reaching the 60p target set by Collins Stewart the house broker, and may be more.

Entertainment Rights has secured the international television distribution rights to the latest addition of the 'Transformers' series of programming from global toy company Hasbro Inc. The agreement sees ERT acquiring worldwide (excluding Latin America, North America and certain Asian territories) television and video-on-demand distribution rights to the new 'Transformers' animated series together with a 70 minute Transformers special.

The company now represents four series of 'Transformers' programming totaling 154 episodes.

An interesting and positive move:

Entertainment Rights said it has appointed former Disney Publishing Worldwide president Deborah Dugan as chief executive and president of its North American operations, effective May 15.

ERT, which acquired Classic Media and Big Idea in the US earlier this year, said it is looking to expand the enlarged portfolio in the US with Dugan on board.

Entertainment Rights said the BBC has commissioned its brand new series of Postman Pat Special Delivery Service to air on both BBC2 and CBeebies and added it has secured a long-term broadcast platform for the show beyond.

The UK's media group specialising in the ownership of children's and family programming said the new series is to air late 2008 and throughout 2009.

Mike Heap, chief executive, Entertainment Rights said: 'The newly evolved Postman Pat will continue to deliver sustainable benefits to our shareholders for many years to come'.

Entertainment Rights widened its first half pretax loss saying the strength of the sterling against the US dollar impacted the first half, but added it is on course to meet its full year expectations. The company recorded a pretax loss of 7.26 mln stg for the period to June 30, 2007, from a loss of 3.45 mln stg a year earlier.

Revenue almost trebled to 17.3 mln stg from 5.9 mln stg, impacted positively by the acquisition of Classic Media in January this year. Chairman Rod Bransgrove said the company's financial performance is traditionally weighted towards the second half. He added that the company is well positioned to strengthen its presence in the US.
