Grant Shapps, the Conservative party chairman was accused of patronising voters last night as he attempted to use Twitter to promote the government’s budget.

Shapps tweeted a picture that said: “Bingo. Cutting the Bingo tax and beer duty: To help hardworking people do more of the things they enjoy.”

He asked his followers to re-tweet, “to spread the word”.

Latest YouGov / The Sun results 19th March - Con 33%, Lab 38%, LD 11%, UKIP 11%;

European elections that was published in this morning’s Times. Topline voting intentions for Europe are CON 24%, LAB 32%, LDEM 10%, UKIP 23%, GRN 5%. Labour retain their lead for the European elections, the Conservatives and UKIP are still in a tight race for second place… but with UKIP in a narrow third place.

The next thing the Hazy One will say is the outlook for the Cons Party is good.

A bit like Michael Fish's prediction before the hurricane before it hit him.

Don't worry about out spending your pension fund, the next tory political policy will be a an announcement on changes to the Euthanasia laws in the next Parliament.

Instead of spending money they do not have on expensive focus groups and polling, the Labour Party should just watch Channel Four’s GoggleBox. The show has people from all walks of society watching TV at home and it captures their reactions. Miliband and his pie-in-the-sky Jobs Guarantee Scheme popped up on the news, and the response will not make for comfortable viewing if you’re a Labour strategist or supporterSome of the family friendly comments include:

“F**king hilarious!”

“Ridiculous!”

“He is a bit of a joke isn’t he?”

“I don’t even understand politics, but I understand that is s**t idea.”

“The Labour Party… they must think we are donkeys.”

The people have spoken.

I bet the tories couldn't believe their luck when the robber barons of the unions elected the lesser spotted millibandus to maximum leader status.


The next general election could be interesting.

The Miliband Balls partnership is completely untrustworthy. As is the Cameron Osborne. The highlight of yesterdays budget for me was the removal of the need to buy an annuity with pensions (maybe I'll consider one now). Also I thought the NISA was a good idea to simplify things.
When it comes to the next general election then my vote will go to who ever I believe will get us out of Europe the quickest.
