Mediwatch - Watch them rocket in 2005 !!! (MDW)

overgrowth - 12 May 2005 22:21

Mediwatch is a small company destined to become a much bigger fish by the time this year is out. Mediwatch are already a market leader in urological medical diagnostics equipement and are currently exporting their products throughout the UK, Canada, Europe, India and Japan. That doesn't leave much of the globe left for them to capture - until you remember the good ol' US and China. These are the two massive markets which are destined to be added to MDW's export client portfolio by the end of 2005.

The company is currently heavily undervalued. This is probably because Mediwatch's speciality is not a very glamourous business to be in as their equipment is used extensively to diagnose prostate cancer in men and other nasty urological conditions affecting both men and women. However, don't let that put you off investing in these guys. This is big business and is growing at an exponential rate as more and more people globally become health-aware as they get older.

Mediwatch normally supply their products through to global markets via distribution agreements. They already have the best of distribution partners in the well known US medical distributor CR Bard who supply Canada and Europe and GE Medical who supply Japan. The UK business is handled by Mediwatch's own dedicated sales team.

US FDA approval was gained for MDW's products at the start of last year, however a whole year of US legal wrangling meant that they were unable to seek a suitable partner for the crucial distribution agreement until the start of this year. This distribution agreement is expected by the board to have a "significant effect" on the share price so they are reluctant to give any clues as to when it will be signed, sealed and delivered. The general consensus is that this US distribution agreement will be announced in July/August. In China and Hong Kong, MDW have done things the other way round. They have set up distribution agreements with major Asian medical equipment distributors and have stock already out there waiting to sell into the markets - all they are waiting for is SDA approval (which is a "rubber stamp") from the Chinese authorities - this can take anything up to 12 months to come through and MDW applied during Autumn 2004 - so even more good news coming soon this year. Epidemiological data from British Association of Urology conference last year: On average 30-45% of all men between the age of 50 and 70 have at least one PSA test per year in the US / Italy / Australia.

If that's not enough to convince you to invest a few hard earned coppers in MDW, they are also developing a PSA stick test product (PSAWatch) which is revolutionary and causing some excitement in medical circles. This product can also be adapted (at very low cost) for a whole spectrum of medical disciplines from Cardiology to Veterinary Practice! This product is likely to be released in the next few weeks. Philip Stimpson the CEO has said that this product is going to be their "gold mine" - I'm sure it will prove to be ours too.

OG, I will inevitably find out from friends also invested in MDW and SEO via my mobile phone. yYour right being away a lot is a pain but then it does pay the mortgage and funds the investments. Perhaps new cars could have pre-programmed share price movement on screen in addition to sat-nav???

Andy - it sounds great though I don't think would do too much for road safety lol!

Well, BAUS kicks off today and results out before Friday - should be an interesting week for MDW.

petralva - 27 Jun 2005 08:26 - 388 of 1497

i see they have moved the mid price up again og are evos still bidding for stock?

banjomick - 27 Jun 2005 08:36 - 389 of 1497

Looks as though it's going to be a very good week for mdw!

rodspotty - 27 Jun 2005 08:43 - 390 of 1497

Evos are still bidding for stock and have now moved to 12.75p bid. DYOR

Looking very good, some news maybe soon? I bought in at 7.3p thinking they were extremely cheap and the fall had been overdone as are YOO at present which should bounce back to 13 pretty soon, MDW may settle but should the deal we've all been waiting for materialises - 25-30? and still think good value at these levels.

overgrowth - 27 Jun 2005 20:21 - 392 of 1497

robstuff - I agree.

A deal with Medtronic will definitely see the price shoot up to around the 25-30p mark.

There will be the inevitable retracement after the price has peaked, however news from China/Hong Kong or sales figures from PSAWatch will send the price storming away up again.

Loads of upside still. Any price below 20p is a good price to be in IMHO.

mbugger - 27 Jun 2005 20:42 - 393 of 1497

Got in today,Medtronic roll on.

banjomick - 28 Jun 2005 00:46 - 394 of 1497

The recent rise in sp with relatively low volumes, with little or no press coverage and BB's with modest postings ie,not many concidering the rise(hardly any hype on the ones I've seen, just basically giving the true position with possibilities if it all comes together)must bode well for the near future!!
I think the moderate selling is from people that bought in at the start of last year who were reluctant to sell at a loss but now have decided to break even or take a smaller loss, can't be on whiff of bad news or there would be a hell of a lot more!
Below is the link for the ongoing BAUS conference for anyone who missed it,or can't be bothered to rewind.

banjo

nothing wrong with the odd rambling!

I think you will aslo find that peeps who bought in at 7.5p or so will be taking profits, it's the nature of the sport. Good news is that there is more than just significant potential here and if it all comes together 13p may be history fairly soon. Personally, I'm going to hang on for the much greater profts, assuming of course, that all goes to plan in the MDW world.

Morning all, Noticed yesterday that Buys & Sells were almost the same, is their a significance perhaps(i.e. MM,s are/can/will only trade share for share hence they are holding stock for trading after "numbers" OR they are just short of stock)! Also on the single sell this morning I get the impression that the price will be very "nervous" until figures/news issued. How do you read the situation? Rgds.

jnknill - 28 Jun 2005 09:17 - 397 of 1497

Dr Forrest...............Thats worth thinking about. Superb!!! Rgds.

ptholden - 28 Jun 2005 09:19 - 398 of 1497

Personally, I don't think there is much stock about and I see EVO are on the Bid on their own once more.

Also noted today the appointment of Dr John Forrest CBE as a non executive director. Having read the RNS he appears to be something of a catch, although I don't know anthing about him. However, I do ask myself why would someone of his experience / knowledge want to join a tiddly little pharma company? Possibly, because they are not going to be a tiddly little company for much longer? I suppose you could take the cynical view and say he will be earning a salary!)

As far as the results are concerned, I think they pale into insignificance when compared to the Medtronic deal and distribution rights, which hopefully will be announced pretty soon.

Onwards and upwards...........I hope.

pth, Go along with you! My view is that the Doctor possesses the "compass knowledge" to guide MDW to the "pot of gold" which PSA in particular, has created. A shrewd move by Management and if I,m right, shows a touch of Corporate humility! Rgds.

jnknill - 28 Jun 2005 10:15 - 400 of 1497

Well that,s it! MM,s definitely need stock............we will see how the nerves behave. Rgds.

jnknill - 28 Jun 2005 10:17 - 401 of 1497

Apologies! I read the move wrong, I think? Rgds.

ptholden - 28 Jun 2005 10:29 - 402 of 1497

Tis a small tree shake. Sold my small holding at 50% profit overall. But, fear not, have used the proceeds to buy 3 times the number I sold through my CFD account.

Edit:

Wasn't a tree shake at all, delayed sell of 135k.

ptholden - 28 Jun 2005 14:15 - 404 of 1497

Interesting L2
3v1
MMs happy to take up any sells
I get the feeling they are preparing themselves for the 'news'
(Let's hope there is some)

pth - A very shrewd observation you made earlier:

"However, I do ask myself why would someone of his experience / knowledge want to join a tiddly little pharma company? Possibly, because they are not going to be a tiddly little company for much longer?".

I think you've hit the nail on the head there.

MDW are now well on the path to becoming a sizeable, highly profit making organisation.
