THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Two men first to be charged in UK under FGM Act

First prosecutions under Female Genital Mutilation Act in case relating to 2012 procedure at Whittington hospital in London

Owen Bowcott, legal affairs correspondent

theguardian.com, Friday 21 March 2014 11.38 GMT

Two men are to be charged in the first UK prosecutions under the Female Genital Mutilation Act, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has announced.

Dr Dhanoun Dharmasena and Hasan Mohamed will be charged when they appear before magistrates at Westminister magistrates court next month. The case relates to a medical procedure performed on a patient at the Whittington hospital, in north London, in 2012.

Announcing the decision, Alison Saunders, the director of public prosecutions, said: "The CPS was asked to consider evidence in relation to this allegation of female genital mutilation (FGM) by the Metropolitan Police Service. "It was alleged that following a patient giving birth in November 2012, a doctor at the Whittington Hospital, in London, repaired FGM that had previously been performed on the patient, allegedly carrying out FGM himself.

"Having carefully considered all the available evidence, I have determined there is sufficient evidence and it would be in the public interest to prosecute Dr Dhanoun Dharmasena for an offence contrary to S1 (1) of the Female Genital Mutilation Act (2003).

"I have also determined that Hasan Mohamed should face one charge of intentionally encouraging an offence of FGM, contrary to section 44(1) of the Serious Crime Act (2007), and a second charge of aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring Dr Dharmasena to commit an offence contrary to S1 (1) of the Female Genital Mutilation Act (2003). These decisions were taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

The identity of the patient has not been revealed. Dr Dhamasena and Hasan Mohamed will appear at Westminster magistrates court on 15 April.

Sorry GF 'THE CHOSEN ONE' has managed to destroy that single handed this season. Krauts will go on and win it imo.

cynic - 21 Mar 2014 14:37 - 38637 of 81564

common bream i assume ...... when i was a kid, we used to get plenty of those down our way on the thames, and also good sized roach, perch and chub + occasional barbel ..... there were also loads and loads of bleak and gudgeon

once the river was dredged and a number of reed beds and similar removed, my recollection, perhaps faulty, is that most of the above disappeared and silver bream were the most plentiful

You are the lucky one because it is every financial news, news in America etc., with American speaking voices all the time which would do anybodys head in. Volume down is the only answer - right, left or middle clicking will not get rid of it.

goldfinger - 21 Mar 2014 16:40 - 38647 of 81564

Exactly the same alders. Same for normal investing.

Risk/Reward system.

A lot of top traders and fund managers use the system.

Alpesh Patel introduced me to it when I was on a Institute of Traders seminar. Mind it is covered in some trading books aswel. Come Into My Trading Room.....covers it or something very similar.

Their is a mathematical formula ......... T=PR/(E-X) where T is the size of the trade, P is the portfolio size (cash plus holdings), R is 2%, E is the entry price and X is the pre-determined stop-loss exit price.

PS, dont forget though where most use 2% I use .75% and it makes it a lot more sensitive to price movement but it suits my style.
