THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Pretty warm here with odd breeze.

Didnt catch owt back home now.

Weve re stocked with bream so Ive been trying for a few days to catch one to see how they are conditioning.

Will have to wait.

The Krauters Chris will bring the best out of United.

Dont forget thats where most of our history comes from.

I think we'l scrape through, I really do. No pressure on us like in the league.

Chris Carson - 21 Mar 2014 14:35 - 38636 of 81564

Sorry GF 'THE CHOSEN ONE' has managed to destroy that single handed this season. Krauts will go on and win it imo.

cynic - 21 Mar 2014 14:37 - 38637 of 81564

common bream i assume ...... when i was a kid, we used to get plenty of those down our way on the thames, and also good sized roach, perch and chub + occasional barbel ..... there were also loads and loads of bleak and gudgeon

once the river was dredged and a number of reed beds and similar removed, my recollection, perhaps faulty, is that most of the above disappeared and silver bream were the most plentiful

I also nearly s-it myself this morning when on money am this stupid news channel CNBC came on, there was no way I could shut it up so turned the volume right down - needless to say I cannot hear it now but can see it. Hopefully money am will dispose of it as quickly as it came.

aldwickk - 21 Mar 2014 15:23 - 38640 of 81564

I haven't had any trouble with it ' i can see a black box on the right side of this page and when i right click it says rightster player and Adope flash player

cynic - 21 Mar 2014 15:26 - 38641 of 81564

an awful lot if my memory of tower blocks is even half way correct

3 monkies - 21 Mar 2014 15:31 - 38642 of 81564

You are the lucky one because it is every financial news, news in America etc., with American speaking voices all the time which would do anybodys head in. Volume down is the only answer - right, left or middle clicking will not get rid of it.

goldfinger - 21 Mar 2014 15:35 - 38643 of 81564

Alders council houses would be extempt under Local Government laws LG 458916 reg 16.............................................................it was a joke.

goldfinger - 21 Mar 2014 15:36 - 38644 of 81564

aldwickk - 21 Mar 2014 16:18 - 38645 of 81564

goldfinger

You said you use a 2 - 2 system for SB's , what would be best for CFD's ?

cynic - 21 Mar 2014 16:18 - 38646 of 81564

sticky - you should go fishing more often as it seems to restore your equilibrium (thank goodness!)

goldfinger - 21 Mar 2014 16:40 - 38647 of 81564

Exactly the same alders. Same for normal investing.

Risk/Reward system.

A lot of top traders and fund managers use the system.

Alpesh Patel introduced me to it when I was on a Institute of Traders seminar. Mind it is covered in some trading books aswel. Come Into My Trading Room.....covers it or something very similar.

Their is a mathematical formula ......... T=PR/(E-X) where T is the size of the trade, P is the portfolio size (cash plus holdings), R is 2%, E is the entry price and X is the pre-determined stop-loss exit price.

PS, dont forget though where most use 2% I use .75% and it makes it a lot more sensitive to price movement but it suits my style.

goldfinger - 21 Mar 2014 16:47 - 38648 of 81564

Cyners you may be right.

I think ive got a bit stuffy just lately as this last year I havent really had a holiday or much time off and my mothers been rather ill which means Ive had todo a lot of traveling at awkward times during both the night and day. Im going to sort that soon and take her indoors to the holiday home in Malta.

cynic - 21 Mar 2014 17:06 - 38649 of 81564

ah, the Hole with the Mintoff (if you're old enough) ...... i thought of going to Malta on biz in a couple of weeks, but flights are so awkward i gave up ..... i hear the place is one big building site at the moment, though no idea why

goldfinger - 21 Mar 2014 17:12 - 38650 of 81564

Im not really bothered where I go at the moment, a fortnight in blackpool would do me.

When I was there 2 years back it wasnt too bad I wonder if they have pushed on with it.

cynic - 21 Mar 2014 17:16 - 38651 of 81564

i've never been, but have started to develop a couple of clients over there, so i thought it a good excuse to visit

depends on you and your mother's needs (in the broadest sense)
you could do worse than Nice, or if a bit warmer, then perhaps Seville or Barca or even Naples, none of which require too much flying time

goldfinger - 21 Mar 2014 17:22 - 38652 of 81564

Naples been a few times. No im not taking the mother the wife. Been to Barca wasnt for me beautiful but too busy.

Right Im off for a while, when I start spelling all wrong I know Im getting tired and need some sugar therapy ..........laters.

cynic - 21 Mar 2014 17:29 - 38653 of 81564

Nice is nice!

Haystack - 21 Mar 2014 20:52 - 38654 of 81564

In France more than twice as many rely on foodbanks than do in the UK. The Trussell Trust runs 400 foodbanks and provides 2,500 tons of food. They certainly don’t run all the foodbanks in the UK but they probably run most of them. In France it’s 100,000 tons from over 2,000 foodbanks. Is that because the Socialist Government there does not care about the poor? Difficult to see how this fits Labour’s narrative.
