I'm short too choccie / maggot ... bit worrying when we get a concensus.

Good luck.

STORMCALLER - 13 Apr 2005 23:36 - 3870 of 11056

Dil,
If you are that worried, for the small consideration of 3% profits from all 3, I am generously prepared to take a cable long, and guarantee your profits..lol

chocolat - 13 Apr 2005 23:37 - 3871 of 11056

Well that's downright ridiculous, Dil. Good job there aren't too many buses around here.

I did like this headline today:

STORMCALLER - 14 Apr 2005 00:53 - 3872 of 11056

Ok, I did my best for you and no takers....short cable @ 39, BIG stop. you guys are history....:-)

MightyMicro - 14 Apr 2005 01:01 - 3873 of 11056

SC: Well, who's to say you're wrong . . .

STORMCALLER - 14 Apr 2005 09:18 - 3874 of 11056

MM,
Who indeed...:-)
But if the chart I have at work matches the one on my platform, out for a small +50....will find out when I get home...?!?

mostrader - 14 Apr 2005 09:22 - 3875 of 11056

storm stg 18871/74

MightyMicro - 14 Apr 2005 09:34 - 3876 of 11056

Yup, 18873/6 on my magic gadget . . .

STORMCALLER - 14 Apr 2005 09:34 - 3877 of 11056

mostrader,
Thank you for the info...:-)
Trick is whether CMC S/B hit my stop @ 43 after I posted last night, you know how spiky they can get when not much is happening, and I cannot logon from work to see, so watch charts from dailyfx....but they don't always match!!
Assuming nothing untoward occurred, limit would out me @ 889, fingers crossed..

MM,
Wish I had a magic gadget..:-)

mostrader - 14 Apr 2005 09:44 - 3878 of 11056

well storm not sure when u placed ur shrt they are calling top of 48

STORMCALLER - 14 Apr 2005 09:54 - 3879 of 11056

mostrader,
Stop set at about 00:40 this morning, chart I am looking at shows nothing above 40 to buy after that time.

hilary - 14 Apr 2005 11:56 - 3880 of 11056

Stormie,

May I just make one suggestion please?

You've been in a winning trade from which (hopefully) you've banked 50 pips from your a limit order. The trade, however, has continued moving in your favour and you're now out of the market. Instead of setting a limit order, once the trade starts moving in your favour, why not find a moving average from which the trade is finding support or resistance and trail your stop on that moving average.

I realise that it might be difficult to do if you're at work and it's only a suggestion.

STORMCALLER - 14 Apr 2005 12:07 - 3881 of 11056

hilary,

Of course you can make a suggestion, I appreciate you taking the time, thank you..:-)
The problem is that I cannot log on at work as the platform requires a download to your machine, if caught doing that I WOULD be fired, that's why I have to try and pick an exit and let it run that far only, not ideal but the only way I can play..:-(
I will certainly take note of the suggestion for when I am at home though, very much a beginner at FX, and need all the help I can get!!

Thank you again

SC

hilary - 14 Apr 2005 12:35 - 3882 of 11056

Stormie,

Why not try a broker who doesn't need you to download anything to your PC? Personally, I wouldn't give CMC the drippings from my nose. Alternatively, some brokers let you trail your stop x number of pips below or above the high or low of the day.

STORMCALLER - 14 Apr 2005 13:10 - 3883 of 11056

hilary,
Opened cmc s/b account as already had cfd account there, I don't know any who don't require a download but are open 24hr, could you suggest one??
If you would rather not post it, my messaging is enabled.

Can you log on to the internet at work? You could try www.deal4freelite.com.

Seymour Clearly - 14 Apr 2005 13:21 - 3885 of 11056

Edit double post

STORMCALLER - 14 Apr 2005 13:45 - 3886 of 11056

Seymour Clearly,
Yes I can, at work now in fact. The problem is 2 fold, I believe you still have to do a download, and I sit behind a very high firewall/proxy server, which you need the settings for, and p(r)oxy police won't play ball. Would have been ideal solution otherwise...:-(
