Easynet (ESY)

proptrade - 22 Jan 2004 11:27

i was wondering if anyone out there had any strong views? this company appears to be delivering and has just turned EBITA positive after a great trading statement last week. seems like upside to +200p once results are out.

any comments or thoughts would be appreciated.

proptrade - 18 Feb 2005 14:54 - 387 of 602

i think they may be better tahn exppected

gavdfc - 18 Feb 2005 14:55 - 388 of 602

Which hopefully should bode well for us. I hope you managed to catch SIA's RNS today, nice.

proptrade - 18 Feb 2005 15:01 - 389 of 602

very nice...

gavdfc - 18 Feb 2005 15:09 - 390 of 602

Indeed. The Citywire article is very interesting. Anyway, a tick up here would be a nice end to the week. Roll on next week!

gavdfc - 23 Feb 2005 15:28 - 391 of 602

Well it's been a pretty quiet week here so far, low volumes and price drifting down a touch. Hopefully tomorrow's results will be decent and maybe even a bit of action! I wonder if decent numbers may lead to a brokers upgrade, would be nice. Of course, a contract or two....

proptrade - 23 Feb 2005 15:39 - 392 of 602

you said it...i think we could see a positive surprise tomorrow but who knows. still so positive on this one and i just hope that Colt (also reporting) doesn't put a spanner in the works. i think there are a few guys in the city watching this closely....

gavdfc - 23 Feb 2005 15:57 - 393 of 602

Don't really follow Colt so can't really comment on them, but they do seem to have risen steadily from the falls early last year. I get the feeling that if our numbers are decent them we may be marked up sharply tomorrow. Hopefully these city boys will be buying tomorrow! All in all, tomorrow should be an interesting day. I have noticed that Fins have been call to trade since last week I think.

proptrade - 23 Feb 2005 16:00 - 394 of 602

being pushed around pre-results...maybe a good thing, MM's making it appear there are sellers? who knows, truth is out tomorrow!

gavdfc - 23 Feb 2005 16:07 - 395 of 602

Well Fins are now taking online bets again. Certainly dont think that todays sells warrants this drop. Shenanigans maybe!

gavdfc - 23 Feb 2005 16:09 - 396 of 602

All UK markets down today so maybe just being marked down along with them.

proptrade - 23 Feb 2005 16:10 - 397 of 602

yup...room to move tomorrow with some great results!

proptrade - 23 Feb 2005 16:16 - 398 of 602

no trade all day, mm's quietly marking them lower. if i went in to buy 100/- they would bounce BIGTIME. no cash...

gavdfc - 23 Feb 2005 16:29 - 399 of 602

Lets see if any T trades show up after the close.

proptrade - 23 Feb 2005 16:32 - 400 of 602

nope, this was a classic MM ploy...nothing on the pad and walk the stock down in the afternoon. no buyers=no resistance and then mark abck up tomorrow. one thing i know is that the market makers seem short so stella results could be interesting

gavdfc - 23 Feb 2005 16:38 - 401 of 602

Well a few seemed to like 101. Price does seem to have been marked down over a few days on low volumes. I guess there will be plenty looking at tomorrows numbers. Here's to tomorrow, an early start then!

proptrade - 23 Feb 2005 16:39 - 402 of 602

you bet....speak then

proptrade - 24 Feb 2005 07:32 - 403 of 602

results look pretty good to me. delivered on EBITA promises and still have the EBIT outlook and levels of cash in place. lets see how they open...

Easynet turns the corner
MoneyAM
Easynet Group, the broadband network provider, said it expects to turn cash flow positive by the second quarter of 2005.

The group also expects to be EBIT positive by the year-end after it announced an EBITDA profit for the year to December 2004.

EBITDA amounted to 8.9m last year, up from a loss of 5.7m in 2003. Revenue grew by 24% to 144.1m and gross margins rose to 53% from 51%.

The operating loss narrowed to 13.9m from 15.1m.

The group achieved a profit at the EBIT level in the UK; profits totalled 3.2m compared with a loss of 3m in 2003.

Cash at the end of 2004 stood at 40.3m.

Easynet said it is well positioned to benefit from the rapid uptake in broadband and IP access and services.

'We have started 2005 encouragingly with a number of important customer wins,' said chairman David Rowe.

'We are encouraged by the prospects for both wholesale and consumer next generation LLU-based broadband products and will continue to evaluate prospects in this area. Overall, we are confident of continuing to make good progress despite the anticipated declines in narrowband revenue. The board looks forward to 2005 with confidence,' he added.
