I have thought about becoming self employed yes..... I doubt my current employer ever sought references or anything as I agreed to do a couple of weeks work for the company as a favour to a friend who places financial people and was struggeling to fill the role, they asked me to stay on after I got a longer contract with another company and have been here since... Got married, had kids etc, etc, its an easy life.... pays the bills kinda thing, and thats it really.

No Shortie have a think about a change in career...................WINK......just look at this and no joking its cosha.

A problem with just "walking out" of your present "employment", unless you already have a "job" offered is that you may need a reference from present employer and with shits similar to one, or two on this thread the reference may be worse than poor.

It is better to lump the job and work out your severance period, at least you will have pocket money.
