So the reason for the SP hike is shown in todays RNS,new oil discovery
in Block 69. With indicated commercial flow rates and an addition 22 mboe
to reserves.
Stinks of insider trading?

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed we're going to see 10k of production this year which should take us up and over 15/share - this and my holiding in gfm have been the only decent risers in my portfolio since last may & I'm still kicking myself for staying in oys.

Yersterday's RNS confirmed a successful 3rd Well from Block 77,1 more
appraisal well to complete before production in early spring.
Also from (and what i like) Peter Lavine,
We are very pleased with this drilling result from towards the edge of Snezhnaye
Field,which highlights the potential and the full extent of the field. This with the other Wells at Snezhnaye will enable us to prove up the field reserves and
move some of the 2P catogary reserves into P1 reserves.
Seems a bullish statement to me, which market liked and moved the SP up 50p
at close.

Well here we are, 5 days on, no other news but up she goes.
42.75p (7.4%) today, must be the market coming to realise that
oil production is imminent.
With a market capital of just over 250m for potential reserves in excess
of 2 billion boe. Real cheap imo.

Wakey wakey, nobody there?
IEC released on 31st March, oil production started on track for 1500/2000bopd
next month. Hoping to achieve 20000bopd end of 2008, sp creeping up
touching 740p.
All positives yet no responce, with brokers note quoting 10, 9 should not
be far off if 1500/2000bopd is confirmed.

KEAYDIAN; The broker is Panmure Gordon & Co.
Some points,
Analyist Tim Heeley upgrades IEC from "hold" to "buy", while revising
his estimate for the Co. The target price has been raised from 590p to 1000p.
The EPS for 2006 has been reduced from 11.63 to 6.94p. The EPS for 2007 has been raised from 63.8p to 65.8p.
The analyst expects IEC production to increase significently going forward given
the recent successful drilling.

block 77?
1500/2000bopd promised from 7 wells.
Snezhnaya 133 242bopd @ 41API
Dvoinoye-2 467bopd (no pump) double with pump? @37API
This is the 1st oil production with 5 others about to be brought on line.

Snez 135 201bopd flowed @39API
Snez 136 Pay Zone of 9 metres
Snez 137 Pay Zone of 17 metres
Snez 138 Pay Zone of 8 metres
Snez 139 Pay Zone of 11 metres

Along with news from Blocks 69 and 70, i believe quite a northward movement in the SP is due.

Up over 11% today to almost 9, latest broker upgrade 15 60p.
So still a fair way to go?
Drilling results and production updates within the next few weeks,would seem to
be the reason for such an increase by broker.

Well it worked Bos, as far as my next tip is concerned, just bought into UEN.
Producing 9000bopd and with 2 refineries(a very scarce asset).But my reason main
for buying, the latest RNS 109mbblso proven reserves + 87mbblso and
1.9tcf/gas possible with producing wells of 1000bopd to be added to the 9000bbls.
All this for $148m which to me is a snip, some late interest late today,but
well undervalued imho.

I've been reading their latest presentation, the 4th well Snez 139 completed and
flow rates exceeding expectations.Hoping to produce 1500/2000bopd in May.

Block 80 is particularly exciting, "MAJOR UPSIDE"
And from page 13 a piece i like.

The above reserves figures do not take into account any reserves from the
acquired Block 80.

The reserves are based on fields representing "A FRACTION OF THE NUMBER
OF STRUCTURES SO FAR IDENTIFIED ON IEC's ACREAGE".
This could mean a massive field?
