Any punters living in Birmingham Area interested in a Pie, Pint and jaw, one evening in a pub in Birmingham area.
Personally interested in small time investing(gambling), developing an appetite for CFDs. Also developing an interest in Charting or TA.

No problems getting home.
Lots of basics covered last night which I do think is important to revisit.
I'm not a great Jazz fan but under normal times I would have been keen to come, but I have lots on at the moment as you know Fred. Will certainly re think nearer the date though.

Home OK. At least there was no hardsell at the seminar. Just the last slide as the 'reason' for holding it and the special offer available if you sign up same night..... Doesn't seem to have been any follow-up phone calls from CMC... (unlike the hardsell after other seminars in Brum from Traders Uni and WinInvest).
The Birmingham Jazz Featival (as sponsored by Tesco) is on at the moment. It's 6th to 15th July - so this coming Sunday is last day.... website is at
http://www.birminghamjazzfestival.com/
The event seemed to suffer from a change of organiser last year as it was a bit uncoordinated. But this year seems to be back to be being fairly well organised.
Some acts were at Barton Arms - pity about the parking there - but had an excellent meal there yesterday aided by a few pints of .....
Beer Name: Helter Skelter
Brewer: Oakham Ales
Strength: 5.0% A.B.V
Description: A strong golden ale with an intense hop aroma and character. Hops and fruit oscillate above a refined bitterness. A very drinkable beer - watch out for the hangover the next day!
See you next month....

I'm trying to get something similar going in Bristol - but its proving difficult to rouse much interest.
What sort of response of you had so far and do you have any tips as to how to encourage people to ome along?
Good luck in the meantime
Pete

Mindseye,
The first meeting of ours consisted of Stan, myself and the Barman.
The Barman new more about betting than we did and probably more about shares.
But with perseverance we have got to the grand total of 4 on one occasion.
Many say they would like to have such meetings but have their own reasons for avoiding them.
The meetings we have had have been enjoyable and if we got to about 6-10 regulars could be informative and useful. I think all of our meets have provided something useful to think about, even if it was the bar maid and the beer.
Perhaps a short program of points to review would be useful, ie, Fundamentals and Charts and the usual "tips" to avoid.
You could offer free beer, I would attend then, but only if somebody would drive me home.
Good luck I hope more will attend our next meeting:
14.00 WEDNESDAY 15th AUGUST 2007 ( that is this year)
at the :
The Old Joint Stock (Pub)
Temple Row
Birmingham
(Opposite the Birmingham Cathedrals entrance.)
Havent seen 55011 for a while.
He tipped me MCRO, I dont know if that was the reason for his noted absence.
I have put my life savings on it. So I would like to see him again.
Have a look at RBS, EZJ. I thought yesterday I had been stupid but much relieved to see todays movement.
I can now afford a new tyre for my bike, so will arrive on wheels.
Regards
Perhaps, Shares magazine could provide a little information about such meetings.

Thanks for that - there was only 3 of us too including the bar staff too - although I have to confess the barman didn't give me much to think about. We were expecting a 3rd and we kept accosting evryone that walked into the pub rather hopefully - but I suspect we just came across as desparate :-)
I have to walk everywhere at the moment thanks to EZJ - but its nice to see them on the rebound.....
Good luck with the next meet - if Birmingham was nearer I would definitley attend. Maybe if we organised a National event we might hope to get 5 or more attend....
Good luck

Well, there should certainly be enough beer at the Old Joint Stock for a while ....
About 40 kegs had been unloaded from a Fullers truck and were 'waiting' near the side entrance of the pub this morning ....
See you next week .....

minseye,
3 seems to be our limit and when you look at the size of the West Midlands that does seem a daft number, I just think it's typical of middle England in general these days.
Anyone who has tried to organise an event will know what I mean.
In actual fact 3 or 4 isn't a bad number to keep discipline with, seems to work reasonably well.
