THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

goldfinger - 01 Apr 2014 17:50 - 39103 of 81564

Sorry mate someone had to fall for it.

Must admit it was very good.

I sniffed it out when it mentioned essential services.......processing pensions and benefit payments will remain at work"

cynic - 01 Apr 2014 17:57 - 39104 of 81564

it's no prob, honestly :-)

had it been shorter, i may have bothered to read it, in which case, it was prob self-apparent

i think the internet has a load of spoofs listed, and i may get round to look at it if nothing better to do

btw, i still think you should consider BLT, and not just for a short trade either ..... i very much like that sp has jumped straight through the congested 25/50/200 dmas in a single move

Anybody know who said this ?

"The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out for himself, without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, and intolerable."

Haystack - 01 Apr 2014 23:20 - 39115 of 81564

The most likely important part is just at the end of the quote. Why did you cut it?

aldwickk - 01 Apr 2014 23:29 - 39116 of 81564

Thats all there was printed

MaxK - 01 Apr 2014 23:42 - 39117 of 81564

Sounds about right!

"Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, and intolerable."

Haystack - 01 Apr 2014 23:52 - 39118 of 81564

The most dangerous man, to any government, is the man who is able to think things out for himself without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane and intolerable, and so, if he is romantic, he tries to change it. And even if he is not romantic personally he is apt to spread discontent among those who are.
