TRP - Read the thread

LONDON (AFX) - Tower Resources PLC said technical evaluations on assets it acquired in Uganda and Namibia, after a merger with Neptune Petroleum Ltd in January, have made "good progress".

In Uganda, detailed results from a gravity-magnetics survey data on Tower's Block EA5 are sufficient for farmout activities to begin.

Tower said it believes that conditions for oil generation and entrapment in permeable reservoirs in Block 5 are similar to those in Block 2, where the recently-publicised oil discoveries of the Hardman-Tullow oil consortium are located, about 100 miles south-west of Tower's Block 5 along the same Ugandan rift trend. Testing of that well has just been completed with the well producing at cumulative rates in excess of 12,000 bopd over three intervals.

In Namibia, detailed interpretation of almost 10,000 km of purchased 2D seismic data across the licence area (Blocks 1910A, 1911 and 2011A) has been completed. Results are most encouraging, identifying numerous leads in several geological settings. Many of the structures identified are of commercial significance, it said, although more work is required to assess the exploration risk of the various leads. Farm-out initiatives will be undertaken once this work is complete, it said.

Further updates will be provided to the market as the farmout campaigns in Uganda and Namibia proceed, it said.

Have had a pop at GNG and OSG today, both due to report results next week and predicted to post decent increases in profits. Good info on the threads, PDYOR.

Also doubled up my holding in QTI, as I was able to get 1p a share over the phone. Results out today seemed encouraging about future prospects, although at present it's still more than a bit speculative and could be a slow burner.

sold my trading holding in SOLA to pay for it all. NB I still think SOLA has a huge amount of upside potential, but I was very overweight in this stock and wanted to spread some risk.

INTERESTING RNS

LONDON (AFX) - Brainspark said TraderServe, a software vendor and
consultancy in which it holds a 34.6 pct holding, has launched a new range of

Brainspark said in a statement that this is a significant step for
TraderServe after a long period of development and the products are expected to

on best execution.
These products generate significant savings in transaction costs and are
expected to make a significant impact on TraderServe, it added.
The EU Markets in Financial Instruments Directive, which comes into effect

Just had another look at (CPNR) looks interesting

soul traders - 30 Nov 2006 12:05 - 405 of 934

SOLA has just announced another big increase in planned production for the forthcoming year - SP up over 12% at present.

moneyplus - 30 Nov 2006 12:10 - 406 of 934

Good job you hung on to your long term holding!! 10+ here we come!! Very tempting to take a quick profit and then buy back when the excitement dies down but I have a feeling the tipsters are holding this one for their 07 strong buys and then it will take off again. decisions! decisions!

soul traders - 30 Nov 2006 12:21 - 407 of 934

MP, I'm not a short-term trader, but I have the feeling that the feeling you have may be the correct one. The news on SOLA just keeps getting better and better, and I'm now thinking that, had I not sold a chunk this week, I'd have kept the lot until at least the next set of results. However, I am trying to educate myself not to be greedy and to adopt a strategy of floating off some free carries in order to avoid getting skinned the way I did when I got too greedy on VOG and never made a penny in spite of trebling my original investment.

soul traders - 30 Nov 2006 12:22 - 408 of 934

FWIW SOLA is still around 16% of my portfolio, so I guess that's probably enough, right?

moneyplus - 30 Nov 2006 12:26 - 409 of 934

That sounds a sensible balance. All this excitement---I could do with a lunchtime Gand T!!

soul traders - 30 Nov 2006 12:32 - 410 of 934

Yep - I think I could join you with a nice single malt.

That 10 could be on the cards, too - I estimated a possible SP of 568p from the original 125MW, which would give SP 12.54 for the 265MW. (PE 14) Could be wrong, of course, but SOLA is definitely worth hanging on to!!

Am now hoping my GTL will do similarly :o)

moneyplus - 30 Nov 2006 12:36 - 411 of 934

I like the look of GNG but will wait a while as there is not much interest yet-definitely one to tuck away though. CCH results in Feb.

soul traders - 30 Nov 2006 12:41 - 412 of 934

I'm GNG'ing at present, as you know.

BTW your mention of EIIB reminded me that Just Retirements is due to float - I think tomorrow. They may have quite a large mkt cap, but could be worth looking into (Shares Mag mentioned them recently). I hope to get some research done, but am supposed to be spending my time booking my Xmas flight home and sorting out a tax return and none of it is getting done !!! :o(
