Boris is not liked by the Conservative MPs which is why he is not standing. He wouldn't have been one of the last two to be put to the wider membership.

Gove is not liked by the wider public, Liam Fox is regarded as weak by the Conservative MPs.

Are we sort of suspended from voting or using our veto now Haystack , could we threaten to stop a lot of plans the EU has , lets say if Turkey is asked to join can we veto it still .

We can still veto anything until we leave. Turkey aren't going to leave. There are at least 6 countries that will veto Turkey. It would take years for Turkey to be in any sort of financial position to join. Cameron was telling the truth.

There is no evidence that Turkey is going to join the EU. They have been trying since 1985 and are no further forward. Their economy can't meet the convergence criteria on tax, budgets, interest rates, inflation. Their human rights are also a problem. It is the work of a generation at least to fix these problems. The EU is dangling a carrot to Turkey so that they will behave better. In fact they are behaving worse with a virtual dicatator now.

May has been an excellent Home Secretary. She has been in post longer than any other since about 1890.

Agreed Hays. Home Secretary has long been the poisoned chalice but she has managed it well despite being in a staightjacket from the EU and ECJ as far as immigration is concerned.

Having said that, she did play a Clinton by being keeping her head below the parapet during the Brexit fight. Conscientious objector?
On balance I prefer Gove. He is very smart and comes across as being very sincere. Unusual for a politician. And behind every successful man is a successful woman - in his case Sarah Vine.

The public hate Gove as much as Hunt due to his schools changes. He may get elected leader but can't win a GE.

You do generalise Hays. Your views are not necessarily that of the public. He hardly turned away "the public" from Brexit. As for the ECHR, it is accepted by virtually all, including Russia. The USA has the greatest problem with it. The ECJ is another matter.
