Morning all.
Yesterday proved to be a great success and we were blessed with fantastic weather. The morning started off with a phone call from PJ who was stuck on the M25 in the world's biggest traffic jam and Markus who was still in bed. Well, he is old and needs all the sleep he can get! However, we all managed to get teed off by 1030 in three teams of three. Many lost balls later, the combination of Markus, Eric & Canary 9 had won the team event and in the process relieved the rest of us of 5 each.
A quick break for lunch and liquid refreshment was followed by the main event. As it transpired the hot favourite playing on his home course (moi!) blew up on the front nine, (I think it was the lager at lunchtime) and never really got back into contention. Meanwhile Eric & Markus were playing steady golf, whilst the majority of the rest of us were wondering around the deep rough looking for more lost balls.
Ultimately, Eric ran out a worthy winner with 33 pts, a great score on a tough course, and Eric if I may say so, you showed remarkable stamina and fitness for one of the older entrants, a great effort. Young Markus finished in the runner's up spot with 31 pts and Predateur third with 28 pts. Congratulations to you all.
Nearest to the pin on the 5th was won by errrrrrrrrr nobody as not one of us managed to get on the green. Nearest to the pin on the 15th was scooped by yours truly, with Paul Jacobs taking the prize for second nearest to the pin. The first time in the history of golf that a prize for second nearest to the pin has been given!! Well, we had to do something with the prize originally assigned to the 5th, (and we had to make sure that AM won something). Longest Drive was won by MG, well, actually it wasn't really the longest drive, but it was the only one that stayed on the fairway! Most appropriate though as MG had a mare of an afternoon and there's nothing more likely to cheer you up than going home with a few goodies.
All in all, everyone had a great day out, although walking down the 18th at 8 o'clock in the evening, I should have remembered to book the paramedics. Absolutely exhausting, most of us walked double the distance looking for errant balls and the members will have a field day during the coming weeks, picking them all up. Not too sure they will want your 'Noodles' though Paul J.
Many thanks to everyone who turned up and supported the event. Sorry those that had to work or for other reasons were unable to attend, don't worry there will be another one next year. Special thanks to 'Bully' of AM for providing support and sponsorship, which made the day just that little bit more intense, it really was appreciated. Eric is now wondering what to do with 1 years free subscription for Level 2!!
There is photographic eveidence of the day which will be posted later, wilbs, keep your fingers off the keyboard!!
Once again, many thanks to all for your support.

pth & all
Thanks for a great day. I'm writing this from the Intensive Care Unit and the nice nurses are helping me use my fingers and thumbs to get the right result ;)
Excellent course, superb company and wonderful weather.
It's ages since I played 36 holes in one day - and it showed.
Obviously a very sympathetic group of people - everyone deliberately missing the fairway on the 17th so that I could win the longest drive. In fact it was about 100yds short of PJ's effort in the morning. His drive caused major problems with East Midlands Air Traffic Control - so apologies to anyone who had their planes delayed because of the fear of an incoming missile.
I repeat my apologies to Bob Colby and Eric for the worst game of golf in history. I will be paying for treatment to the bramble and thistle scars incurred in looking for my balls. But at least I've still got 2 left - which I very much doubt PJ has after exploding his on his drives.
Particular congratulations must go to Eric.......you know what they say, when all around you (me and Bob) are losing their heads a wise man is able to remain cool, calm and collected. Obviously a shrewd and measured investor - unlike his mad and impulsive FOREX trading nutcase partners.
Great day and can't wait until next year's 27 Hole event.
mg (Thanks for the finger wilbs, I will be making good use of that with nursey)

Just woken up after 11 hours' kip, absolutely knackered. But now what do I do with this "Level 2" stuff? Sounds like a 'La Femme Nikita' job status to me!

Excellent day out guys. Everything went very well except my golf.
I had the distinction of playing with Eric and MG. The top scorer, longest driver and most distinguished looking golfer in our three ball.
Well done PTH and MoneyAM

Well done to pth and Moneyam for a great day. Weather, course, organisation, prizes, food, company and the beer was perfect. My game was crap.

A superb day.
Congratulations to Peter for the idea and his organisation.
Deserved thanks to Money AM for their generous prizes.
To those who took part, delighted to be in your company.
To those who considered entering and did not, you missed a wonderful days golf at a tough, but beautiful course. Should it be arranged next year do not miss it. Close down the market, invent a grandmother's funeral, anything, just make it.

Finding it hard to put the H in IMHO! As you see, markus was unable to keep his eyes open - it was those penalty shots wot did it as pth charged him a shot each time he went to sleep whilst lining up!
pth: a great day with excellent organisation. The course was ferocious but in superb condition. The meal was excellent. The management of the weather was amazing as it could not have been better. As probably the most senior competitor, coped amazingly with the 36 holes; suspect the fact that I was tired stopped me trying to hit the ball as hard as normal with the result that it flew with birdie like precision. Amazed that anyone managed to hit the 15th, never mind the 6th - Bobcolby deserves a mention for being 3rd nearest the pin - I was well and truly lost with provisional in the bunker.
Hard to remember a better golfing day out. Thanks too to AM for your support and quality of prizes - hope it doesn't make me a 'pro'! Yesterday went downhill with a WIN seminar but then rose to another peak with a family visit to Billy Elliot; superb.
So thanks again to Peter - Longcliffe was ideal but its only fair to spread the load out. Tenterden is OTBT so what about it Markus? East Midlands is probably the easiest for access.
