Can anyone recommend an online backup service, which I can use to backup about 2GB of data?

For instance, I found http://www.perfectbackup.co.uk and who would charge me about 7.50 pm for this amount of storage.

Priscilla - 14 Dec 2005 16:59 - 3952 of 11003

Oh joy! I've upgraded my modem today and the internet connection hasn't dropped once. Now on a router ....(apparently!)

Kayak - 14 Dec 2005 17:11 - 3953 of 11003

Don't know Doc but bear in mind that the backup to the backup service will count against your monthly bandwidth allowance given by your ISP.

Sound problems - still !!!!

You may remember some time ago I was saying how I had only my front 2 speakers & woofer working out of my 5.1 system.

I have finally installed a Soundblaster card (I had sound from my motherboard originally). Daft question I know but ..... should you get 5.1 sound from music CD's?

Is there a demo web page to test 5.1 output does anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks!

I hadn't thought of that.

Ive upgraded my Java to version 1.5.0 and can no longer get the charts to appear when i click on the icon on stockwatch. If I remove Java it works fine.
I need it though to run Limewire

IanT(MoneyAM) - 18 Dec 2005 10:18 - 3961 of 11003

Iain,

Strange, as the charts from stockwatch work as a pop up - does it still direct you to a new page or does it do nothing?

Ian

Iain - 18 Dec 2005 10:37 - 3962 of 11003

Nothing happens Ian

Iain - 18 Dec 2005 10:42 - 3963 of 11003

Ive disabled Norton etc still nothing.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 18 Dec 2005 10:42 - 3964 of 11003

Iain,

Not sure whether this will help, but make sure pop blockers aren't becoming enabled when in your firewall, or your browser, and also check to see if you have java script enabled - click on tools, internet options, security, customer level - then scroll down and check java script and make sure the pop up blocker is not enabled.

Java pop up was stopping it.Thanks Ian

I need to buy a colour laser for work. My main concerns are
1: Running costs
2: Reasonable quality photo / image print outs that don't look too "lasery" if you know what I mean. We will likely be producing a fair amount of photos with a lot of red / orange in them (retinal photos) so need to be able to replace different colour toners separately I think - has anyone any advice?

katcot - 26 Dec 2005 16:12 - 3968 of 11003

SC

I've been looking for a laser printer for a while - still undecided but Computer Active magazine have been doing test features on them. You should be able to access the information through their website. What puts me off is that although initially the ink is supplied afterwards it cost approx 250 quid to replace.

Can anyone help please.

I have taken my laptop to family for the holidays and have managed to connect to the net via a wireless connection (password protected). They use AOL.

My problem is that there are certain sites, such as my broker, which I cannot access in as much as I get as far as putting in my logging in details and nothing happens.

Any ideas gratefully received

TIA

Kat

Seymour Clearly - 26 Dec 2005 17:59 - 3970 of 11003

Kat, only suggestion I could make is once you've logged into AOL, minimise the AOL browser and launch Internet Explorer and that may sort it - some sites only like IE. I use Firefox as my browser but again, some sites (very few) don't work properly with it.
