In Asia today, the Nikkei closed up 195.58 points at 18,108.79, while the Hang Seng ended the morning ahead 138.21 points at 20,789.63.

New York Mercantile Exchange's main oil futures contract, light sweet crude for delivery in April, was down 4 cents at $60.03 a barrel from $60.07 in late trading in the US overnight.
