Margreb Minerals, m.cap of 3m, $1bn in the ground (MMS)

Still Waiting - 11 Mar 2007 15:05

Latest investor report:-

http://www.maghrebminerals.co.uk/documents/maghreb/Feb2007/February%202007%20Maghreb%20Minerals%20Presentation%20Indaba%20Mining%20Confernce%20South%20Africa.pdf

With MMS recently concluding deals in Tunisia it has estimated reserves and disused mines with a value in excess of $1billion.

The company is in discussions with JV partners that will bring in the capital to re-start mining quickly.

What value would you place on a company with value in the ground.

With a market cap. of under 4m this looks way too low and should fly with a JV in place.

The share is tightly held with a listed Canadian mining group owning 24%.

Positive news could see the SP multi-bag within days...

Not one for widows or orphans but a small stake could pay dividends in any portfolio.

Outlook
-------

The Group's focus in the immediate future is on its Tunisian assets and in
particular on those most likely to be able to be converted into producing mines
in the near term.

Now that the important agreements on the two former mine concessions at Bou
Jabeur and Fej Lahdoum have been signed with the O.N.M in Tunisia together with
the acquisition of the fluorite permit at Zriba (Zaghouan), Maghreb is focussing
on the "advanced exploration" opportunities that these permits provide. This
will be followed in due course by exploration on its other permits including
Djebel Fej Lahdoum, Djebel Goraa, Lorbeus and Ouled Moussa.

The Group has been approached by, and opened discussions with, a number of
parties who have expressed interest in entering into varying commercial
relationships to exploit the different mining concessions and exploration
permits held by the Group.

Lead prices soared to a new high last week.

I'm expecting news of the JV partner any time now, once confirmed these will start to move ahead strongly as investors wake up to the value MMS can extract from their mining assets.

Any opinions on the departure of the 2 geologists last month?

relishing , required field,

I saw their presentation at the Excel Arena recently, and to be honest my thoughts were that production is too far away to invest now, and they need to raise more cach, which woin't be too easy in the current credit climate.

Just my thoughts, and good luck if you are already invested, I'm not trying to put the stock down.

Well i'm a buyer at this level for various reasons including:

- Enterprise value is just over 1m with around 2m cash in the bank.
- Fully funded for next 5 Quarters.
- Bon Jabeur JORC resource upgrade due shortly.
- Management seems competant and PR/IR is imo very good for their size.

So with a market cap of just over 3m including 2m cash, what I like about that is that no success at all is priced in, and the risk to the downside seems very minimal. On the other hand the upside is blue-sky. Reading the boards, sentiment among long-time holders seems near rock-bottom too. Add to this Pb and Zn prices that have fallen over the last 6 months or so but from their charts look very much like they are bottoming or have bottomed and are ready to begin climbing again, and you get a whole lot of upside potential for a very cheap price.

Other plus points include some institutional involvment, and that the last placing was done at much higher price (7p I think?).

Regarding your comments on production and cash Andy, I did see something somewhere about the Fluoride/Fluorspar (sp) concession possibly being brought into production in H2 this year, other than that I believe they are in JV talks for other concessions. The main one is of course a while away - they need to do pre-feasibility study, bankable feasibility etc. So with their 2m in the bank what makes you think they need to raise more cash at the moment?

A jorc estimate might help....I still think that this one like VML could do with a helping hand to kick start things !

hi relishing,
i agree with your analysis, for the same reason i'd invested in this company few weeks ago. i've been mms for 2 yrs now. i remember 2yrs ago in jan in shoot up 100%+ just on the success.
sounds like mms has made an progress, any news on jvs or interest from other companies will habe huge impact.futhermore, mms has influencial stakeholders. i'll try to dig out my reasearch on mms from months ago.

If it can make progress tomorrow then this may well be the bottom, however MMS has a habit of declining that is proving hard to break. It has for the last 12mths+ anyway.

options granted to directors and staff on Friday.

Have they bagged them just before positive news is released?

anyone with any news or info on mms current progress???

relishing - 08 May 2008 12:29 - 18 of 189

Last communication I had was about 3 weeks ago, with Ms Hywood.

She said they are drilling intensively with 4 rigs working 2 shifts daily, and that they were pretty much maxing out the assay lab with the volume of core samples. She said they anticipated releasing a 'comprehensive announcement' towards the end of this month.

I recommend emailing her if you have any queries about progress etc : Jane Hywood [jane.hywood@maghrebminerals.co.uk]
