On the 21st August a group of 6 of us will be embarking on a 2 week cycle trip across the UK. We will be starting in at Lands End in the very South West of England and working our way up the country towards the North East of Scotland.

We will no doubt have to battle with weather, large hills, bike damage, and of course - saddle pains!!

We are carrying this out on behalf of the The Ridgeway Community School, a school for children with severe learning difficulties. The school is currently raising money for an interactive playground which offers a whole host of new sensory opportunities for the children there and we hope to help them raise the money to purchase this amazing piece of kit.

Any amount that you can donate goes straight to the school and to their fund for this equipment and every penny will make a difference!

The Ridgeway Community School is a Local Authority maintained special school for children 2 - 19 years of age who have severe and/or profound multiple learning difficulties. The school is spread over three sites, the main site on Frensham Road, our Nursery at Pilgrims Way School, and our Further Education Unit which is sited at Farnham College. We provide a personalised education for our 100 pupils and, by fundraising, we aim to provide new facilities, minibuses and equipment to improve and support teaching and learning and enhance the lives and experiences of our young people with learning difficulties. We particularly support each child to develop an effective means of communication. Access to resources can open up a whole new world, hopefully becoming the start of a lifetime of simple, but effective communication, something many of us take for granted.
