Response Speed Of MoneyAM (SLOW)

ChuffChuffChaser - 21 Sep 2010 13:50

Is it just me, or is anyone else finding that MoneyAm is extremely slow in putting its pages up? I don't have any problem with other "similar purpose" sites.
Is there a problem, or is it a new policy to get people to join the paying elite?

kosyboy - 22 Sep 2010 08:18 - 7 of 37

Oakapples142 - 22 Sep 2010 08:49 - 8 of 37

My situation is same as kosyboy

HARRYCAT - 22 Sep 2010 09:14 - 9 of 37

Still the same for me (Have sent you e-mail yesterday). IE8 running very slow on MAM site only. FireFox seems to be just about o.k.

Stan - 22 Sep 2010 09:20 - 10 of 37

Same here, details sent yesterday as well.

All,

just to let you know George is working to find what is causing this, it is taking a while to pin down as it is not accross the board, but only affecting a portion of users,

Its no worst then Barclay's stockbrokers when the market volume is high you can't log in and the prices they quote are sometimes miles out of date.

kosyboy - 23 Sep 2010 08:34 - 14 of 37

has George had any luck sorting this out as still running slow

IanT(MoneyAM) - 23 Sep 2010 08:36 - 15 of 37

kosyboy,

not yet I am afriad - he is still looking at it, and as we are nto able to reproduce it, that is why it is taking longer than normal.

He has asked me to ask you to go to the quote page and to hit refresh several times, could you then let me know if it is consistently slow loading or if it loads at a normal speed on any of the refreshes.

Thanks

Ian

HARRYCAT - 23 Sep 2010 08:44 - 16 of 37

Still slow on the quote / refresh page for me.
Just a matter of interest, did everyone who responded to you via e-mail have IE installed? My PC with FireFox has no problems, so may install Firefox on my laptop to overcome the problem.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 23 Sep 2010 08:46 - 17 of 37

Harry,

Thanks for the feedback, and no, people were using a mixture of browsers/operating systems.

Ian

kosyboy - 23 Sep 2010 08:56 - 18 of 37

Ian

No still running very slow to load page

HARRYCAT - 23 Sep 2010 09:00 - 19 of 37

Ah, so that's blown that theory out of the water!
May possibly be one of those Windows security updates I sent you then, as my laptop is regularly updated, but my PC hasn't been for quite a while.
Bizarre that it's just MoneyAM site!

IanT(MoneyAM) - 23 Sep 2010 09:03 - 20 of 37

thanks kosyboy

hilary - 23 Sep 2010 10:00 - 21 of 37

Just a suggestion. Why don't you guys try pinging am's DNS to trace the route and see if there's any obvious delay along the way?

Treblewide - 23 Sep 2010 10:25 - 22 of 37

check you out hildred getting all techy on their asses....you just googled that didnt you?

jonuk76 - 23 Sep 2010 10:33 - 23 of 37

Good idea. There's no obvious problems showing for me using the tracert or ping commands in Windows, but the sites page loads are still very slow for me. Real time quotes which I get through Quotetracker (from MoneyAM) seem to be fine, as do other sites.
