I tell the callers similar to the ones described that I an very interested and ask them to hang on for a while as I am speaking to somebody on another line.
I then place the receiver on a cushion and forget about it for about 20mins picking it only to check they have rang off.
Costs nothing.

Paco Oil & gas
Hi I am new to this site. Also invest in a small way. I have been contacted by Edenbourg AS Place Sainte-Gudule 17 1000 Brussels Belgium initially by phone then recieved folder all to do with Paco all seemed genuine but was disturbed that I was cold called and firm trade in Europe not UK. Having read quite a bit of what others have said will not be touching this. Just thought this name may help someone else
Found this on a message board , ald

cynic has the best approach and its what I do.
Make no mistake, these people are trying to rip you off, there is no need to be polite to them or anything else.
I see these boiler rooms all over Asia, little pokey rented office, couple of expats running it, lots of Filipina's or "permanent tourists who got lost" working for peanut commissions using Internet Phone technology to pester people day in and out to buy their shitty shares.
They are out to tip you off, tell the to F off and do not be shy about it. The more abusive you are, the quicker your name will be removed from the scam artists lists of potential suckers.

Had a laugh once, got called whilst I was in KL, normal spiel and I was playing with them that day and so asked if I could visit their office for a meeting, he replied that they were located in the Petronas Towers in KL in Malaysia, if I would like to come to KL.
So I said well, here I am now actually next door to the Petronas Towers (and I actually was), told him its a gorgeous sunny day in KL and I will be around to see him in 10 minutes........ at which point 1001 excuses come out as to why I could not visit their office.......
