In the US on Friday, the Dow finished up 200 points to 16,472 the Nasdaq gained 81 points to 4,708 and the S&P 500 rose 27 points at 1,951.

In Asia today, the Nikkei was recently UP 301.52 points at 18,029.29 and the Hang Seng up 347.02 points at 21,853.11.

WTI crude oil traded at $45.45 a barrel and Brent at $48.13.

Gold settled at $1,137.10 an ounce.
