Morning all
Yesterday I got involved in a bad trade. What I call a shake a fake, where they ram the price down first thing and then spend the rest of the day buying. You have to buy no matter how bad L2 looks and you have to take out the offer as if you put volume on the bid you tend to get no fill or a small partial. You have to be fast too as although the price doesn't turn on a six-pence, the volume on the offer goes so thin you can't get any decent volume an appropriate price.
It's one of my more reliable setups.
Only it turned out the selling went on for about 6 hours on high volume. You know the type. Drip, drip drip selling with the price falling bit by bit on a nice downtrend leaving you indecisive as to whether to bail at a huge loss or stick it out in the knowledge the loss will likely get bigger before it gets smaller.
I got lucky in the end and the price came back in the afternoon and I got out for a loss not dissimilar to a "bad day at the office".
So, far more investing. I seem to be a lot better at it.
I'm going to cut my day-trading down to a couple of trades a day. It's just too much hard work for the income generated. These days covering the spread and commission and getting decent volume is just too much hard work.

Hello All.
After years on ADVFN, I finally pulled the plug and moved here.
Just wanted to say hello.

Welcome.
There's a different quality of posting over here although sometimes it's a bit quiet.
I post on both sites but I'm pretty fed up with ADVFN as they seem to have no control over a small group of posters who I find their language and abuse they hand out offensive.

Yeah I noticed you can't even see the forums on here unless you have a paid for account which I like!
