News Headlines:    US Stocks weakened in the face of geopolitical jitters on news that at least 29 people were killed in a Monday night explosion in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, including seven Americans

Lufthansa loses 356 million against the 325 million expected, again watch BAY for further losses today. The Nikkei ended the day at a 5 week high.

Carillion construction said it had been appointed preferred bidder for two contracts, and said it was set to make more progress in 2003.

FirstGroup bus and train company met forecasts with a 2% rise in profits to 159.8 million and said current trading was in line with expectations. They proposed a final dividend of 7.45 pence, taking the total dividend to 11p.

Ex dividend day today with little excitement although Unilever may be worth looking at.
