Nanotechnology

charles7 - 02 Jul 2003 21:55

My son is home from uni and working for a company that invests in this area. Seems a good investment opportunity, but he is only 23! Tell me otherwise please! Is this technology as good as he says it is?

If you have a legitimate and sensible response 'your input will be rewarded'

Yes I saw the news item as well.
It went flitting through my mind that it has all the attributes to be the next big bubble. You know mention nanotechnology and whoosh off goes the share.
So as above I wonder what quoted companies are in this arena?
Must go and do some web searching.

Someone said that IQE used this type of tech i emailed them and got this reply

Dear Neil,

Our processes involve chemical vapour and molecular beam deposition and is primarily used to grow electronic and optoelectronic structures. However, the process (epitaxy) is used in some nanotechnology applications (eg MEMS) although much of the work in this technology area is still at the R&D stage.

Regards,

Chris Meadows.
