Weekend Chat thread (CHAT)

Crocodile - 07 Nov 2003 21:33

Tonight its more like being on the frontline here with fireworks going off everywhere.. Im sure they used to finish on November 5th now they seem to go off almost every night of the year. With the cost of some of these whoppers being sold at 50 a piece they must be trading a lot better than I am ;-)
Its good to see the Investors room taking off at long last with the number of threads almost doubling in the last couple of weeks. Its also good to see our old friend Rayrac can now access it!

Have a good weekend all

PS spending the day in Chester tomorrow, any recommendations for a good restaurant?

After lunch be sure to do the wall walk around the old town, on top of the old walls...

It was surprisingly quiet were I am (perhaps I've got used to it). We have had a firework shop in our village for the last few years. In the summer they add barbecue stuff to thier stock. So we have fireworks going off all year round. There is a major road running straight through the middle village, so they get a lot of passing trade, noticable by the cars parked outside the shop on the pavement!.

I personally have unhappy memories of Chester, but arriving there in the middle of night didn't help! I hope Croc you have a good day, although the weather doesn't look too inviting were I am, I hope it's a lot better were you are.

Off now to London to do a little work, before attending a formal dinner which although the dinner is expected to finish about 11pm, the night should go on until 5ish - many drinking games have been planned to keep us going .......... So everyone have a good weekend, keep safe.

- I shall remember to drink a lot of water in between so when I drive back tommorrow I will not have too much alcohol still in my system (perhap it'll be safer if I should find a way not to drink as much as everyone else!)

Drinking water does not increase the rate at which alcohol is metabolised or expelled. It just makes it less likely you will get a hangover, because the symptoms are in great part due to dehydration. A healthy male liver removes around 1 unit of alcohol per hour from the blood, a female one a bit less. The driving limit works out at around 4-5 units still in your blood.

Yours sozzled with all the facts.

The police are well aware of 'night before' drinkers. It's best to stay off it all together or have only one or two and a good sleep afterwards. If you are involved in a minor traffic incident that is not your fault you are likely to be breathalysed also. I know many who have fallen in just these circumstances.

Crocodile, looking at 'Test' thread you had a short day in Chester. Was it closed?

Crocodile - 08 Nov 2003 21:17 - 9 of 10

Unfortunately it was called off, the trip that is not Chester!

optomistic - 08 Nov 2003 21:34 - 10 of 10

Pity about the trip, but there is a good chance Chester will be there tomorrow!
