CONCISE POSTS

ajren - 27 Nov 2003 11:18

Why are so many posts extremely long?I suggest posters summarise their post
into a few short sentences.rgds aj

ajren - 27 Nov 2003 11:46 - 4 of 14

Summarised posts are Easier to understand e.g.please see my post in relation
to M and S and the questioner understanding it.aj
P.S.Ref 33 of 35.It was a complex subject.

Arjen,

That may be so in your opinion, but I think it depends on the topic/point trying to be made. In some circumstances (not all) summarised posts are highly frustrating as they only give part of the story, which then leads to follow up posts for more explanation. Personally, I find some of the longer posts far more helpful because of the level of detail they go into. We all have our own opinions/styles !!!

ajren - 27 Nov 2003 11:59 - 6 of 14

Please read 33 of 35 mentioned above - a complex subject.
I agree many summarised posts can be frustrating.
However, needlessly long ones are more frustrating.aj

Post 33 explained a previous post. I must admit I didn't understand the previous shorter post and still had to think about the information and how to interpret Post 33. Trouble is I tend to think too much, so need it spelt out to me!

tobyjug - 27 Nov 2003 12:14 - 8 of 14

I agree

ajren - 27 Nov 2003 12:30 - 9 of 14

I was asked a question about a complex matter.

I explained it and he - as you read - understood it : one of the reasons being
HE did some research on the original.

The previous short post referred to the company.I posted it and expected
people to go to it and read it.

lw and tobyjug:-I suggest you - like he - read the original and tell me
which is easier to understand.I have no doubt that you will say my 33.aj

:-)

If I have to research stuff to understand a post, I have no need of the post!

tobyjug - 27 Nov 2003 13:11 - 11 of 14
