MM O2 (OOM)

wansford - 23 Jan 2004 18:58

Hi..Looked at this share for last year but never invested ..silly fool!
What thoughts have we got about the next 3 months probably rise in share price due to the good news in that sector ,big cashflow, positive and likely takeover target.
I am viewing an investment with 3 months timespan and 20% rise from todays price.
Do you see this being the case, based on fundamentals and rumour.
Regards Wansford

Sunday Telegraph 25/01/04
Mobile phone group mmO2 has rallied since the former BT arm unveiled its first profit in November. Shares - currently 82 3/4p - have also benefited from talk of a takeover bid by Hutchison and forecasts of strong Christmas trading.

Hutchison are an obvious buyer.

Hutchison own 3, the only 3G network currently operational. For fall-back where 3G doesn't reach (ie, most everywhere), 3 have a reciprocal agreement with MMO2 for 2/2.5 G coverage on the dual-mode handsets.

3G is a bust -- it isn't going be worth the licence price. The only way out for Hutchison is to buy an existing network. Who's available? Guess who.

The other 3G licensees are already 2G licence holders. MMO2 have written off their 3G licence. Come on, take me, please . . .
